Amira's heart had begun to feel lighter. After her talk with Layla and their hug, something shifted inside her. She still thought about Zayd, but now it felt less like an obsession and more like hope-pure and simple. Every morning, as she recited her duas, she asked for guidance and for Allah to ease her heart. And slowly, she began to feel a sense of calm.

That was when she started running into Zayd -EVERYWHERE

ONE MOMENT HIS HERE ,THE NEXT MOMENT HIS INFRONT OF ME

It wasn't intentional ,or she thought so ,it was as if Allah was keeping him in her path or fate was bringing them together .

One time, as her physics period ended and he was on his way to math , she walked out from the science lab crossing paths with him ,it's as if time stopped and her face was suddenly flushed as he walked down the hallway
looking effortlessly cool with his backpack slung over one shoulder. Her heart skipped a beat. Let's not even get to how good his hair looked today .Amira felt like the temperature increased by 30° as she was melting 🫠 to the floor .

Many other times, they made eye contact as she entered the school gate . He stands there looking effortlessly good ,early in the morning . She ain't complaining as it brightens her day walking in those gates of hell and his the first person she sees .

At this point, it seemed like no matter where she went, Zayd was there-at the shop , near the tarmac, even during physics class, when she spotted walking past, through the corridors. It was like she couldn't escape him, and yet, she didn't really want to.

But the moment that really made her heart race came during interval.

She was sitting on the bench when she suddenly needed the bathroom. On the way, she saw him and his other friends play with the rugby ball . He looked different today. His sleeves were rolled up, revealing his toned arms as he threw the rugby ball back and forth. The sun cast a warm glow over him, making his skin shine slightly from the heat. He looked confident, relaxed-so different from the Zayd she usually saw .

Amira's heart pounded in her chest. He looked so... handsome. No, more than handsome. She felt her face turn red, but this time she couldn't look away. She was mesmerized, and for a brief second, it felt like the world around her disappeared. There was just him-the way his shirt clung to his back as he moved, the way his hair fell perfectly over his forehead, the way he laughed with his friends.

Then she noticed-her cousin was there, playing with them. Amira smiled to herself. How amazing that Zayd and her cousin were bonding like this... without even knowing yet.

Amira walked past them purpose hoping he'd noticed her .

Suddenly, the ball came towards her , Amira's heart leaped into her throat.

Amira could barely breathe as zayd looked her way . Only that it's a little embarrassing since she's scared of balls hitting her . (She has a good reason) .

She froze, her mind racing back to that one time in grade 7 when she got hit on the back of her head and couldn't get up for a few minutes. Ever since then, she had been terrified of flying balls. Zayd looked her way, and for a split second, their eyes met.

But instead of staying put and catching the ball like a normal person, Amira's instincts kicked in. She ran, cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
