Kai was right, Saffron would have to get used to them, but she didn't mind. They came back the next day. After a long and tiring dinner shift, Saffron was too busy looking at her phone to see that they had walked in.
"Hey" Kai greets with a wave. "How are you guys"
Saffron's head snaps up and she spots them, and quickly putting her phone down.
The brunette wasn't wearing a technoblade shirt this time, but he still had is messed up post gym hair, which made him look just as cute.
As Saffron stood behind the counter, she couldn't help but smile at the duo. Yesterday's feeling of familiarity washed over her once again, her mind still filled with questions.
"We're good" the blonde says.
Polite pleasentaries are shared and Kai gets to work. Everything was the same as yesterday, she rang them up, making sure to not put on the extra chicken.
"I finally showed him technoblade" Saffron says, walking over to the food station where they were all standing.
"When I saw he was a Minecraft YouTuber, I was expecting him to be child friendly. Not all about killing children" Kai responds, spooning out the rice.
"Bro, it gets much worse than Techno" the brunette adds.
"How? Isn't Minecraft supposed to be a kids game" Kai gapes, then pauses and turns to them both. "Didn't you guys say you played Minecraft"
"Yeah we do" the blonde customer answers.
"Oh... Sorry for calling y'all kids" Kai says. "It's probably different if you grew up with it"
"It's alright. We can't be mad at someone who gives us the extra chicken for free" the brunette responds.
"You guys are too nice" Saffron responds "I'd already have reported him to hr by now"
Kai simply shakes his head. "Here these are done"
The brunette approaches her and he reaches atop the counter to get the box. As she passed it over, she felt her fingertips brush against his. The sudden touch sent a jolt through her, and she hoped he didn't notice her brief moment of hesitation.
"Thanks" he says, giving her a smile.
Saffron still couldn't place where she recognised them from, she'd simply put it down to them maybe coming during a day when Keira wasn't working, but there was something strangely unsatisfying about that conclusion. As if she wanted it to be more elaborate.
"When did they start coming in" Saffron asks, watching them leave.
"Maybe two months ago, but they keep coming in more and more frequently" Kai explains. "Why you care anyways"
She shrugs it off, pretending like it hadn't been on her mind for the whole day. "Who knows"

Usually, on a day off, Saffron would never think about Chipotle. Her mind would completely be on college work, but today she couldn't stop thinking about if she was missing her favourite customers coming in.
It felt like a hallway crush in school. The guy who you would rearrange your route around the school just to see him. Seeing him was the highlight of the day. But unlike a hallway crush she actually got to speak to him.
"Maybe you went to school with them" Keira suggests, as they sit down. "You said they looked around our age"
They were in their break between classes, Saffron was glad she had thess ten minutes to decompress as she always needed it, today more than normal.
"Could be, but I went to high school in South Carolina. So I don't know how likely it is that they both now live here" Saffron answers.
Keira puts her baguette down. "Why are you so into this"
"I don't know" Saffron groans, taking a sip of her coffee. "It's just annoying me"
Keira smirks at her. "You're sure you don't find either of them hot, right"
Her gaze flies up from her coffee, to Keira. In her chest, her heart began to race as she wondered why everyone seemed to be suspicious about her crush on Chipotle guy.
"Yes" Saffron quickly responds, then her eyes narrow on her friend beside her. "Stop with that face"
Keira let's out one final chuckle, but Saffron can't hear as she was hyperfixating on where she recognised those two guys from.
