Princess Mei's eyes sparkled as she gazed out at the Lantern festival's breathtaking spectacle. The Goryeo dynasty's capital city was ablaze with vibrant colours, the soft glow of lanterns reflecting off the tranquil river.
She stood on the bridge, lost in the beauty, her delicate hands grasping the rail.
Suddenly,Court Lady Chaeryong tugged her sleeve, whispering urgently, "Your highness, bent down."
Princess Mei obeyed, her slender figure folding into a crouch. Lady Han and Ling followed suit, tension etched on their faces.
"What is it Chaeryong?" Princess Mei, whispered.
"A palace gaurd!" Chaeryong replied, her voice barely audible. "I saw tons of palace guard, standing at the river bank, right below us."
Princess Mei's heart skipped a beat. Without hesitation, the trio swiftly retreated, disappearing into the crowd.
Across the river, Crown prince Jeongguk and Sungchoel were lost in Princess Mei's eyes.
The brief connection was broken as Princess Mei's group vanished into the sea of lantern.
Both princes frown and were about to chase the lady whom they saw at the brief moment.
Both Princes made eye contact accidentally.
But Sungchoel avoids Jeongguk's presence and leaves the place.
Crown prince Jeongguk's frown deepened as he watched Prince Sungchoel disappear into the crowd. His clenched fist relaxed, mindful of the festival's Joyful atmosphere.
"Mr. Park!" Jeongguk called his trusted knight. "Discreetly follow prince Sungchoel. Report his movements to me."
Mr. Park nodded, melting into the shadows.
Jeongguk's gaze lingered on the spot where Sungchoel vanished, his thoughts swirling.
What is going on with Sungchoel's mind?
Meanwhile prince Sungchoel navigated the winding streets, his expression masked.
He stopped at a secluded tea house, slipping inside unnoticed.
Mr. Park observing from afar.
But he was surprised to see Sungchoel just casually drinking in that teahouse.
