St. Anna's Hospital For Quirk-related Disorders and Diseases is located in the north of the city, surrounded by a bunch of skyscrapers and office buildings. I'm sitting in the waiting room on one of the many plastic chairs, fiddling with my chubby children's fingers on my lap. My cheeks are wet and flushed from tears, my lowerlip shaking slightly. My mother is sitting on the chair next to me, her arm loosely wrapped around me. The whole damn place is stinking with the suffocating scent of cleaning products typical for hospitals. Mom looks mad. No, not mad. Lips pressed tight, eyebrows furrowed, heartbeat so rapid I can hear it...she's....worried.
I try to read some of the signs on the walls to pass the time.
'Se-se-e-f de-costive-'
'Self-Destructive'- a warm voice says from behind my back. My mother and I turn around like one person to see the white coated, tall figure standing in the corner.
'Good morning, ma'am, I'm Dr. Michael Aizawa, the head of the Self-destructive Quirks department'
Dr.Aizawa is a man in his mid-fifties, with a bald head and little to no eyebrows. But don't worry for him, what he misses in hair, he easily compensates in dry eyes and chunky looking glasses.
My mother stands up with a polite smile, shaking the doctor's bony hands.
'We're glad to meet you, doc'
He was smiling widely and merely as he looked at me.
'This is my daughter, Kinga' -my mother announces. Doctor Aizawa's smile widens even further as he hears my name, leaning down so put eyes align as he extends his arm towards me for a handshake. I hesitantly shake his hand but I quickly catch my arm away. His red eyes glow up behind the glass of his glasses and a warm feeling roams through my body.
'I can see you, little one. So, you're the one who killed another kid at the playground? You were on the news'-he says, his face still cheerful as ever but my quirk lets me feel the hint of fear arising in his chest, as he slowly takes his hand away. He's scared of me. Well, no shit. It's been 6 months since Sid's unfortunate death, and the media was still hyping over it. Our house was constantly surrounded by reporters, helicopters circling above the roof like starving vultures, craving to feast on some tasty gossip.
The whole country knew about my quirk by now, and many well known doctors and scientists have offered their services, but among all these incredible professionals, my mother's choice fell on Dr. Aizawa(Aunt Satomi swore he does miracles).
