Sanskriti's POV

Today is Akki's Haldi and Mehndi ritual. They are tying the knot tomorrow. We planned some events tonight and of course I am hosting. Few elder women were getting Akki ready for her Mangalasnanam (sacred bath) , Dhruv and Nanna were busy welcoming the guests and Ksheera akka and Smriti akka were helping me tie my saree. As soon as Akki is made the bride (a ritual of Andhra Pradesh) .. we are all going to change into green. This was Akki's plan. Now I was done with my saree and I appeared stunning. I sent a photo to my friends and

"Wait you look like a girl" texted Vinay and I replied "Yes, yes exactly like you" .

Now came the most difficult part of setting my hair up.

I was brushing my hair when some children were playing around.

"Hello babies can you guys go play outside? Akkas are getting ready here" I said kneeling down to them. "Ok-oops ... I am extremely sorry" said a kid as he accidentally ruined my blouse with the icecream in his hands.

"Well, its okay kiddo .. not your fault" I said and I started to get tensed. Now what in the world would I do. "Ammulu here take this .. I am supposed to wear this blouse for the wedding tomorrow but dont worry I got backup" said Ksheera Akka. I was praying hard for her red blouse to fit me and finally it did. I was also done doing a simple basic braid and added some chains to my earrings. I looked so traditional and  radiant.

"Damn betaal

"Damn betaal ... you are fantabulous" said Dhruv and he added " Well, by the way if you guys are done getting ready .. Maa's calling you .. it's time to start the ritual.

"Goodness ladies .... Team bride is stealing the spotlight" squealed Akki who looked times beautiful than all of us .

Akki was made to sit in the traditional tub filled with milk and rose petals. Our grandma first applied turmeric on her face and hence the rituals began.

Everybody took turns and applied turmeric on akki. Some went into her eyes and team bride washed it off immediately.

It was mine and Dhruv's turn. Dhruv went first as he was the first born.
