The air hit his body like a thousand knives, freezing him almost immediately. He winced when it hit him. He wondered why he wanted to take a walk specifically tonight, considering the weather, but it didn't matter. It was just a walk, but nothing would happen. he smoothed out his obsidian-coloured fur with one swipe before putting on a cerulean, soft scarf that he particularly liked and closing the front door with a silent click. Loud cracks were heard hitting against the once forlorn footpath. his walk taking him chaos knows where, but it was enjoyable when he ignored the glacial breeze against his ebony-furred body.
Shadow was soon seen sitting on the sand of the beach, listening to the calmed waves brush against the shore with his eyes relaxed for once. He could feel the sand beneath his silky white gloves, each grain poking his paw pads. Shadow's eyes fluttered open to see the beam of moonlight shining upon his face. the only light near this desolate beach, it calmed the ebony from the remnants of the supposed 'nightmare' he had recently awoken from.
This wave of calmness continued to guide Shadow. This was until the ebony hedgehog felt something. He looked around to see a pair of glowing emerald eyes observing him as if prey or food to devour with joy. Shadow grumbled, his eyes rolled before he turned away. He hoped that just this once, his annoying and stubborn rival would see it wasn't the right time. But alas, shadow couldn't hope for that miracle to happen. he heard the pitter patter of a certain cerulean 'hero''s shoes becoming louder and louder until it silenced and the sand moved next to shadow. Sonic had sat next to him with a bright smile on his face, as per usual.
"Shadz! 'didn't think I'd see you on my midnight run! how are ya?"
Sonic asked, his voice full of energetic and happiness that Shadow would never be able to even rival. All he received in return was a dirty glare from his tired, raven rival.
