Ayaan Pov:-
I walked back to our room, smirking with my hands in my pockets. I didn't need to turn around; I could already picture her face-eyes wide with shock, her cheeks flushed bright red. She was probably still standing there, frozen, trying to process what just happened. The thought of it made my smirk grow wider. This is what happens when you call me oldie, huh?
"Generation gap?" I muttered under my breath, still amused. How dare she say that... Well, wait and watch, wifey. Let's see what your 'oldie' husband can really do.
I grabbed my laptop and sat on the bed, trying to focus on work. But every few minutes, my thoughts wandered back to her. I couldn't help but imagine her pacing around, biting her lip, nervous about what I might do next. After all, I had left her with a pretty loaded statement. Even though I knew she was strong-willed, I could sense that tonight had gotten under her skin.
An hour passed. Still, she hadn't come. I glanced at the door, expecting to hear her soft footsteps any moment, but it was eerily quiet. Strange...
I closed the laptop and set it aside. My curiosity got the better of me, and I quietly stepped out of the room. From the landing, I could see her downstairs, pacing back and forth in the living room, nibbling on her nails, clearly anxious.
I chuckled softly to myself. She's really nervous... Good. She should be. Oldie, huh? Let's see how scared she is now.
I watched her for a moment longer, letting the tension build, enjoying how flustered she looked. The temptation to tease her more was too much. I wanted to push her just a little further.
I went back to the room, trying to focus again, but my thoughts kept drifting to her. The clock struck 1 AM, and she still hadn't come. Concern flickered through me, replacing the teasing. I stood up, tossing my laptop aside and walking back out, scanning the living room.
She's not here.
I already knew where she was. She was hiding, avoiding me. Wifey... you can't run from me that easily.
I smirked and headed toward the one place I knew she'd be, But I wasn't about to let her off the hook so easily-not after that 'oldie' comment.
Ashi Pov:-
Did he just say that? I kept thinking as I stood there, frozen in place. His words echoed in my mind, replaying over and over again, leaving me unsettled. Did he forget our contract? Why would he say something like that? He must be kidding... right?
I bit my lip, mentally scolding myself. Ashi, why did you have to say something like that? Even though he's... older, I shouldn't have said those things. He's sensitive, and the whole "generation gap" comment... I mentally slapped myself for that. Why did I even say that?
But still, he hid my book. How could he? He Deseve this .
I gathered every ounce of courage, taking a deep breath as I turned toward the room. He won't do anything... I reassured myself, but my pace faltered. We signed a contract. Yes, he won't cross any lines... and maybe he's already asleep by now. He wakes up early, so surely...
With that shaky confidence, I gripped the doorknob and peeked through the small gap. My heart raced when I saw him-he was still awake, sitting there with his laptop. Of course. This man would marry his laptop if he could, I thought, rolling my eyes. I was about to open the door, but my steps hesitated again.
What if he was serious? No... no, I can't stay with him in the same room tonight... just for tonight.
Without another thought, I quickly tiptoed down the hallway and stopped in front of Riya's room. I gently turned the doorknob, pushing it open, and found her sitting on the bed, engrossed in her phone. She raised an eyebrow, curious about my sudden appearance.
