Ronald then went to his room, where Jenny was. He knocked on the door twice, and inside, Jenny was worried about who might be on the other side. Ronald took a deep breath and said through the door, "Hey, Sky, it's me."

She opened the door to see Ronald, covered in sweat, with a cut on his shoulder dripping blood.

"What happened?" she asked, alarmed.

He looked at her and said, "There were two burglars trying to steal something, and I stopped them."

"Is everything okay? How did you manage to stop them?" Jenny asked, worried.

"I think we should call 911," Ronald replied.

"Okay," Jenny agreed.

They called the police and explained what had happened. Afterward, they tied the robbers' feet and hands to a chair and waited at the house for a response. Ronald and Jenny sat in front of the unconscious burglars as they waited for the police to arrive.

Joseph received a notification through his radio that immediate assistance was needed at a house where a possible weapon-based crime had taken place. Candice overheard the news on the radio and became worried because she knew it was about her house, knowing that she had left Ronald alone there.

"Joseph, that's my place! My kid is back there, I left my kid alone, oh my God. Is he okay?" Candice panicked.

"Candice, calm down, please. Everything is going to be okay. Here, let's go. Follow my car," Joseph assured Candice.

They both left toward Candice's house. Shortly after, they arrived, and Joseph ordered Candice to park away from the house and to keep a distance. As the only officer to respond to the emergency call, Joseph took out his speaker and asked the burglars to come out with their hands behind their necks. He pointed his gun at the door while standing by his car.

Ronald and Jenny heard the request. Ronald stepped out of the house, showing his hands up, and said, "It's me, Ronald. I'm not the burglar. Don't shoot. I have them tied down in a chair; they're in the living room."

Joseph lowered his gun, shocked to see Ronald at Candice's house. He realized Ronald must be Candice's son. With shock in his eyes, Joseph asked, "Is my daughter here?"

Ronald replied, "No, she was never here, sir."

Joseph went inside to see the two robbers tied to chairs, still unconscious. He grew more surprised and shocked at how Ronald had managed to handle two burglars by himself.

Candice ran toward Ronald and hugged him, asking, "Are you okay? I'm so sorry. This won't happen again. I won't leave you behind ever again."

Ronald replied, "Mom, I would never blame this on you, ever."

A few minutes later, another police car showed up, driven by the same officer who had been involved in getting Ronald beaten up. Joseph called him inside and asked him to help get the burglars out.

The other officer asked, "Sir, you did this by yourself?"

Joseph sighed, "As much as I wish that were true, no. I found them already tied to the chairs, unconscious. The kid did this by himself."

The other officer, surprised, replied, "That kid? The one we jumped the other day?"

Joseph quickly said, "Keep your voice down now, and yes, it's him."

As they got the burglars out of the house and into the police cars, Joseph and his colleague took notes on what happened from Ronald, while his mother was inside the house getting everything in place.

Joseph: "Listen, kid, your mom and I have been in a relationship for a while, and I didn't know she was your mom or that you were her kid. We wanted to keep our kids out of the relationship."

Ronald: "It's okay, sir. You don't have to worry about a thing. I haven't told her anything from that day."

Joseph sighed: "Okay, kid. Okay."

Ronald: "And sir, with all due respect, ever since my dad died, I've felt like I was born to lose. But I refuse to lose your daughter. I'm in love with her, sir, and I'm sorry if that bothers you. The truth is, my life feels painful when I'm with her because of you. I ran a hundred miles to be with her, and I would run another hundred to stay with her."

Joseph: "Goodnight, kid. Goodbye."

As Joseph got into his car and headed to the station with the burglars, Jenny was making her way home from Ronald's place, having avoided her dad seeing her at the scene. Once home, she made herself dinner and sat at the table. She had some of her books there and started reading one of them. By the time she got halfway through, she heard her dad's car pull up in the front yard. She welcomed him home, and they sat at the dinner table together. Joseph, knowing Jenny had been with Ronald today, wasn't happy. He asked her several times if she had been with him, but Jenny repeatedly denied it.

Meanwhile, as Candice was tidying up the house, she found that Joseph had dropped his house keys. She told Ronald she was going to return them and asked him to join her, but Ronald refused, saying he was tired. Candice left for Joseph's place.

As she stood at Joseph's front door, she overheard an argument between him and Jenny.

Jenny, shouting: "You're the reason Ronald is so afraid to be with me!"

Joseph, angrily: "Well, if you want to be with him so much, why don't you live together then? I don't want to see you with that clown! I don't want to see you near him, and I swear to God, if I ever see you with him again, I won't just beat him up like the last time. No. This time I'll put a bullet in his skull!"

Candice, hearing this, began to cry, realizing how much her son had been suffering. She dropped Joseph's keys and rushed back to her car, racing home. Joseph heard the keys hit the ground, and quickly opened the door, only to see Candice's car speeding away. He immediately jumped into his car to chase her, desperate to explain.

As Candice drove fast, trying to get home, she suddenly had a flat tire. Her car swerved, flew into the air, and flipped upside down, rolling across the road, crushing every part of the vehicle. When it finally came to a stop, Joseph rushed to the scene, only to find that Candice had no pulse.
