Nightfall was approaching, Ted barely escaped the furniture store - leaving with a cut on his cheek. He starts his truck to speed off. As he drives, blood seeps from the right side of his face, which was starting to hurt. The raider at the furniture store shoots the tire of the truck, resulting in him losing control of the vehicle and crashing into a run down train car.
Ted crawls out, in pain with a gash on his side only to pass out moments later. He woke up. His vision blurred, his stomach hurt, along with his head. The blond haired boy felt metal around his wrist causing his senses to spike.
"Ow, shit.." He speaks, to slowly notice a particular black-haired freckled one. Ted takes in his appearance before he speaks.
"It's for my safety, sorry.." The handsome boy spoke.
Ted looks down and notices the bandages around his injured waist, he shifts on the floor slightly. "You stitched me up?"
"Well yeah I'm not just going to leave you to bleed." He shrugs.
"Who are you? I should at least know who captured me.." Ted speaks with caution.
"Seriously, man? A bit of gratitude would be nice." He tilts his head.
Ted shrugs and stuffs his left hand in his pants pocket. He then also tilts his head at the man to match him.
"Thank you, but it's just a bit difficult to trust you, y'know when I'm chained up?" The blond shrugs.
The unknown boy threw the key and replied, "Just don't kill me."
Ted grabs the small keys to the handcuffs and puts it in the lock, freeing his right hand. He wraps his other hand around the one that was previously bound and rubs it.
"Diego." Ted nodded in confirmation, holding out his right hand for the pretty boy. "Ted."
They shook hands and smiled, Diego was still wary of the boy but he seemed to understand his situation. He then lent Ted his sweater with the word 'Bovigo' in bold letters on the chest. He didn't question it but he was grateful.
"Bosvigo's where I'm from, if you're wondering." Diego broke the silence while rolling up his sleeves to check Ted's wounds. Ted felt his face heat up as his boney hands inspected the gash, though he didn't understand why.
"I think I've heard of that place.. Didn't it have a whole bunch of Nocturnals?" Ted replied to which Diego nodded.
"Had to leave my things behind, everything except my guitar over there." He pointed to the black acoustic guitar in the corner of the train cart.
"Damn that sucks man.. I know how you feel though." Ted watched as Diego stood up and opened a can of Tomato soup for him. Diego spoke, "We gotta get that healed as soon as we can so it doesn't get infected.."
Ted took the can of soup and drank it. Diego was visibly surprised that he didn't check it first, he still had to get over his own shit. Ted smiled and shrugged.
"You're pretty enough to listen to.." Diego's face reddened slightly, but he didn't reply.
A few days go by, as fall slowly approaches. Ted's blond hair was getting noticeably longer. Diego notices this quickly, as he always keeps an eye on him.
"Want me to cut your hair?" Diego asks softly, as if opening up to the other boy.
Ted smiles, noticing this. He nods in agreement and sits in a chair. "Just don't chop my ear off."
They laugh at each other's jokes and chat while Diego does him the favour, running his hand through Ted's hair. Diego watches Ted blush and grip his pants gently, he feels his stomach turn.
