As per usual, Ted and Diego woke up in each other's arms. It's like they can't stay away even in their sleep...
But something was off about Ted, he was normally the one to run his mouth so early in the morning, but he didn't. Diego took notice because he's the one that has to listen to it.
"Teddy, you good?.." Diego whispers and rests the back of his hand on Ted's forehead. Ted whines and tugs a pillow to his chest.
"You're sick? But who is gonna drive?" Diego looked slightly worried as he spoke.
"I can still drive, it's only sitting down after all.." Ted wipes his nose, causing Diego to become more worried.
"Ok.. But only until we find a motel, right? No straining activity." Diego demands.
The pair brush their teeth, eat something little, and start the car. Ted pulls out his map, running his finger along the roads.
"There should be a motel around here." The blond points to a red circle.
"That's pretty far.. We can take breaks in between." Diego pat Ted's thigh, luckily Ted's face was already red.
The drive was long, not many breaks were taken because of Ted wanting to sleep in a bed. As they were driving, Ted thought of something.
"What if people are already staying there?" Diego heard this, and bit his lip. "All we can do is hope they're friendly, if there are."
Ted pulled into a parking space and helped Diego bring in the blankets and pillows. It didn't look like anyone lived there, considering the ripped wallpaper and broken side table.
Diego moves the wood pieces from the side table out of the way, helping Ted take his shoes off and get comfy.
"You're seriously treating me like a princess?" Ted had no negative tone, but a one of admiration and affection.
"Wouldn't it be prince?" Diego smiles and brushes some blond hair out of Ted's face. "Get some sleep, I'll find some soup cans or something."
Ted widens his eyes - "I can't really sleep in new places, so I'll just take it easy while you do.." Diego nods.
Diego walks down the sketchy run-down hallways of the motel, searching the rooms for supplies. The sound of his sneakers on the dirty carpet, and broken glass. At the front desk, he finds pens, folders, and a smashed computer screen. All but he was looking for.
Diego wanted to speed up the process because Ted told him he didn't wanna be alone, so he rummaged through more cabinets to finally find a few red cans. He picks them up, reading "Campbell's Tomato Soup."
Diego scans the expiration date on all the cans and rushes back to Ted.
"Teddy, you won't mind Tomato soup, right? Not allergic?" Ted shakes his head at Diego's question
The dark haired boy starts a small fire and grabs a pot, bowl, and spoon from the car. Opening the can and pouring its contents inside the pot before holding it above the fire.
The soup was stirred and heated above the fire for what seemed like 2 minutes, so Diego poured the soup into the bowl, putting the spoon in with it.
The door to their room opens with Diego carrying the bowl on a plate. He sets the plate on Ted's lap. "It's a bit hot, do you want water?" Diego rubs Ted's leg.
Being an average person with the flu, Ted denies, slowly eating his soup.
Diego comes back with 2 plastic water bottles anyway, setting them on the other side table that wasn't broken. The shorter male pins a sheet over the window and locks the door.
