Terri felt the warmth of a blanket pulled over her body, but was too tired and sore to move or respond. She had thought briefly how grateful she was that she had an IUD, but couldn't recall ever telling Kirk that. She had been so caught up in the moment and didn't want anything between them. Not secrets, not her family, not her fears, and nothing but the solidification of their bond. She was slowly succumbing to the embrace of sleep, using Kirk's chest as a pillow, snuggled up tight into his side, when she felt a thread of anxiety through their bond. Raising her head, she looked up at Kirk, who was staring at her.

"What's wrong?" Her voice was soft, gentle. Kirk's hand came around and caressed over her abdomen, his expression pained.

"I'm so sorry Terri," he leaned up to kiss her, "I wasn't thinking. There could be consequences of tonight you're not ready for." The anxiety in the bond increased and Terri started to feel twitchy from it. She smiled and pushed him back down, laying her head back to listen to his heart beat.

"I had an IUD put in my first year of my master's program," she wrapped her arms around him and squeezed, "I would never risk my degree and you never know what is going to happen. I would rather have something in place and not need it than have nothing and wish for it after the fact." Kirk's arms banded around her and squeezed.

"I want pups with you," he murmured, lips against her hair, "when you are ready." Terri could hear the trepidation in his voice, let alone the sensation of caution in their bond. They had talked about so much, taken so long to get to know each other. Anything beyond the mating bond had never been discussed. Terri supposed there was no time like the present.

"I want pups," she drew the statement out, this fingers sliding up his side, "but I want to be comfortable with my role in your pack before we take that step." Kirk growl and squeezed her again.

"OUR pack Terri, it's our pack. You are every bit the Luna to them as I am the Alpha," Terri could feel the tears pricking at the corner of her eyes, "and you will find your place, the one that is perfect for you. Want to spend all day doing research? Do that. Want to go back to school for a doctorate? I will not only pay for the whole thing, I will buy you a house next to the campus of your choice and we will have John run everything until you are done." He brought his hand to her chin and tilted her face back up to his so he could explore her lips. Terri was not sleepy any more by the end of that kiss.

"You can be anything you want to be in our pack," Kirk's grey eyes shone in the dark room, "I will never try to fit you into a mold that you don't belong in. Spread your wings and fly my raven." Terri leaned into him, kissing him again. Kirk growled, causing her to break away and lean back. She could feel his desire through their bond.

"What's wrong?" Terri's hands threaded through the stiff hair on his chest, trying to soothe him.

"You had the day from hell and need sleep," Kirk grabbed her wrists, stilling her hands, "you need rest. And All I want to do is rut you like a beast until we both pass out." Terri blinked at him before a sly smile twitched her lips up.

"How about the first one to wake up tomorrow gets to wake the other however they want?" Kirk's response to that statement was to growl and band his arms around her. Terri giggled, "or we can try to find some more energy tonight...." Kirks response was to tighten his embrace and place a kiss to her hair.

"Go to sleep raven," he sighed, "we have a busy day ahead of us tomorrow. But once I have you back in the city, we will lock the door and I'm not letting you come out for at least a week." Terri started to protest, bringing up the final semester and school, but Kirk just pulled her head into his shoulder and shushed her. "Sleep. Because if I wake up first you'll be waking up screaming."
