"Can't you come with me?"

"No, kitten!" Neron pushed me away as if he wanted to avoid getting into trouble and gave me the umbrella. The last time I came I made him so angry that we almost had a second fire.

I turned to Válian, hoping for more courage from him.

"And you?"

"I wanted to separate them and he threatened to make me soup," he replied with a shrug.

"Turtle soup How disgusting! Nero mocked, receiving the raindrops in his hair.

And yet they expect me to convince them?!

"Then why did you come?" I asked.

"Annalis asked me to bring you," Valian replied defensively.

"And you?" I snapped at Nero.

"I was alone, but good luck! He said as I turned around and, with such a hard spanking, made me stagger into the dark cabin.

Why am I so nervous?

It's just Krohonan... I've seen it before, but something about this visit makes me tense. Maybe it's the storm, or maybe it's the possibility that it will enrage you like these two did.

"Will you let me hug you and share the umbrella?" "I hear Nero behind me

"Don't touch me," Válian replied sharply

Thunder broke the sky just as I plucked up the courage to knock on the door. The bangs echoed, echoing in the empty hut. Will he be at home?

As I was about to turn around, orange lights came on inside. A silhouette moved between the windows, but it didn't look like Krohonan's, tall and thin, with sharp horns that make the creepy wings stand out even more, almost as if it were a shadow from some Tim Burton movie.

I turned for support, but, as expected, the very cowardly Nero and Valian were gone. Fled.

"Milenka?" Krohonan's voice startled me.

My skin crawled when I heard my name in his mouth. There he was, looking at me from the door with a raised eyebrow. My smile came out nervously, out of tune with the knot in my stomach.

"Hello...

Krohonan went outside for a moment, surveying the desolate village under the storm, as if he were waiting for something else. Then he motioned for me to come in.

"Come in.

I went in and left the umbrella at the entrance. I took off my soaked jacket and placed it on a chair while I looked at him out of the corner of my eye. It didn't take long for him to become suspicious.

"What are you doing here?" He asked, crossing his arms. You still look human.

"No one saw me," I replied, avoiding his gaze.

The cold of the cabin made me hug myself as I tried to find the right words. I couldn't just let go. I knew it wasn't going to be easy to convince him to come on a mission.

"It's cold. Do you want coffee?

I didn't expect that question. Coffee? I thought that kind of thing didn't exist in this world.

"Coffee?" I had no idea what you could get here.

"Very few seeds were recovered after the war," he explained as he walked toward the small cupboard.

But I was quite scared when, as he passed by the fireplace, he threw a fireball from his fingers, igniting the wood in an instant. The flash lit up the entire cabin. Krohonan went on.
