Lee Heeseung, you're so stupid. You basically confessed. You idiot. Now you think she would still want to be friends with you?
Heeseung banged his head against the brick wall surrounding EN-High. He bounced a basketball up and down mindlessly while waiting for his friends to arrive to get a round in before school. It was like the group's morning exercise. And technically a fan show since their fangirls would often come at the exact time they played to watch. The seven of them were pretty much used to it now.
His dribbling came to a stop when someone caught the basketball mid-air. Park Sunghoon. Heeseung sent a death glare in his direction.
So this is who she likes. My friend, Sunghoon.
"What's with that jerky face?" Sunghoon smirked, sending the ball flying high in the air before catching it with one hand and spinning it casually on his finger: a move that girls drooled over.
"It's better if you don't know," Heeseung snapped, his anger surfacing when all he could think about was that Ahn Juna, his crush, liked Sunghoon. Not him. He had hope before. When she asked Heeseung how to make someone fall in love, a part of him had hoped that she liked him. But she was the one person who didn't fall for his looks or charms.
Sunghoon raised his eyebrows. "Is it a girl?"
"What? No. Just the same love confessions as always. It's not a bother anymore," Heeseung lied. No one had approached him that morning.
"At 7 in the morning? You have it worse than me," Sunghoon passed the ball roughly to Heeseung, who barely managed to catch it.
"Watch the face."
Sunghoon chuckled. "So you secretly enjoy the attention?"
"What about you? Why do you keep your 'ice prince' image up?"
Sunghoon shrugged. "That's who I am. I'm only comfortable around my friends."
Heeseung took the opportunity to dig deeper into what Sunghoon was thinking. And why Juna could like him.
"Is Ahn Juna your friend then?"
Sunghoon scoffed and without hesitation, he said, "What nonsense is that? I've only known her since last Friday."
"She's been in your class for half a year," Heeseung pointed out.
"But why are we even talking about her?"
"About who?" A different voice asked. The two boys turned their heads to see the rest of the group approaching them with questioning gazes. "Talking about a girl?" It was Jay. Of course, he was the one who cared the most when it came to girls. He's probably hooked up with half the school already.
"It's no one," Heeseung blurted out and passed the basketball to Jay but it ended up hitting Kim Sunoo's forehead and he let out a high-pitched scream. This sent the whole group bawling in laughter.
That was until two of the members saw Ahn Juna.
