THE FOLLOWING MONDAY
Juna showed up to school with eyebags from not being able to get a good night's sleep since the competition even though she had won. For the first time in her life, she was forced to think about things that weren't school or parent-related. Boys. If it wasn't Heeseung on her mind then it had to be Sunghoon. Both of them drove her crazy and in a bad way.
Juna decided that she would just go to the library that morning, too exhausted to even lift her feet. She pulled out her phone a sent Boram a text as she made her way to the back entrance of the school. If she went through the front, she'd be met with the boys.
Juna: Hey, Boram! I'm too tired today to play. I'll be in the library. Tell Sunghoon for me too.
Boram: Of course!
When Juna got to the library, she slumped herself down on the seat farthest away from the door and closed her eyes. She wanted to drift off at that moment. She was tired to the point where she could barely blink without falling asleep.
Suddenly, a cold object was pressed to her face and she jolted out of her seat. If she wasn't at the library, she would've screamed. Sunghoon stood in front of her, holding his stomach, laughing.
"Sunghoon!" Juna playfully slapped his arm as she yanked the strawberry milk from his grasp and poked the straw into the bottle. "How did you know I was here?"
"Easy." He grinned. "I followed you."
"What?! You creep!" Despite saying that, she still happily drank the milk he gave her, all her sleepiness and worries gone.
"Relax, I just happened to see you get off the bus," Sunghoon explained, then his expression turned serious. "Did you not want to play today? Are you not feeling well?"
"Just a little tired." Juna brushed it off. "What about you? You should go to the court before they start without you."
"Who says I'm going?"
"Oh, so you want to stay with me?" Juna teased but she actually wanted him to stay. Over time, she had almost forgotten to convince herself that she was supposed to hate Sunghoon. She couldn't bring herself to do it anymore, especially when he had opened up to her so much.
Sunghoon licked his lips and cleared his throat. "What? You want to read comics? Sure."
"Hey! I didn't even say anything!" Juna laughed quietly. "Besides, I'd rather read actual books, not comics."
Sunghoon raised his eyebrows at her questioningly. "Why? They're so boring."
"What can I say? I'm a pretty boring person myself." Juna grinned but Sunghoon's lips curved downwards. "What?"
Juna couldn't give Sunghoon the chance to answer because she noticed Lee Heeseung walking to the library from the glass windows.
Why is he here? Isn't he supposed to be with the other guys?
Hastily, Juna shoved Sunghoon behind a bookshelf and hid behind him. The boy turned around to look at her, confused.
"Why are you hiding?" Sunghoon asked rather loudly.
Juna brought a finger to his lips. "Heeseung's here," she whispered.
Sunghoon shifted on his feet slightly so he could look back at Heeseung. "So what? Are you just going to avoid him now? You said you wanted him back as your best friend. Avoiding him won't help any."
Juna leaned her head against the bookshelf that was sheltering her and Sunghoon. "It's not that simple. I wish it was."
"Do you want me to go talk to him?" Sunghoon offered, tugging on her sleeve so she would look at him.
"No, of course not. Only I can fix this. I just don't know how."
"Maybe just talk to him?"
"Yeah, no shit."
Sunghoon raised his hands in surrender. "Just saying. Maybe just go up to him and say you want to talk again. This time without you being mad."
Juna slapped a hand on her face and let out a soft groan. "Do you think he wants to talk to me? After everything I said that night?"
Sunghoon scoffed, an annoyed smirk on his face. "Come on, he threw away the flowers he bought for you. If anything, he should be the one trying to talk it out between the two of you."
Before Juna could get more time to think about what she was going to do, she heard Heeseung's voice speak up. "What do you want, Boram?" Boram? Isn't she with the boys right now?
Juna glanced up at Sunghoon to see his reaction but he gently tapped her arm and pointed to Heeseung, who was on the phone and the girl wasn't actually there talking to him. Juna let out a sigh of relief.
"I told you, I feel sick today."
Silence filled the room as Boram talked on the other end of the phone.
"We're not close enough for you to be calling me like this. Don't do it again unless it's something about Juna."
The girl whose name was mentioned froze. She looked up at Sunghoon to see him stare back down at her, his eyebrows crushed together.
"No. I can't do it, and you shouldn't either." Heeseung replied to something Boram said with a firm tone. There was a brief pause. "I do! I miss her, but there's nothing I can do about them being together all the time."
Suddenly, Heeseung's eyes widened and he stayed quiet for a minute. It didn't seem like Boram was talking anymore, more like he was thinking about something.
For a moment, it seemed like Heeseung was about to hang up but then he said, "Fine. Let's do it."
-
"I know Juna's secret. And if you help me this once, I won't tell anyone - unless you want to know, of course."

a/n: I guess I got tired of writing descriptions so more dialogues are in this chapter :)
