This is a mistake. What on earth possessed me to come here?
Keep running. As I run, I can hear my footsteps crunching beneath the leaf. My heart is drumming violently against my chest. Keep running.
I'm filled with an adrenaline rush as I push the branches out of my way. I'm in a dark forest, being chased by a psychotic monster. I can't stop although my legs and my lungs are begging for a moment of respite, I had to keep pushing or else he would catch me.
"You can't run forever, pevchaya ptitsa" I could almost hear his voice. Cold, dark and callous. This is hilarious. I'm running in a dark forest, fighting for survival from a psycho. It's almost as if I'm in a horror movie.
The clouds gathered, tall shadowed trees stretched up like arrows in the sky. The cold, harsh unforgiving wind pushed itself against my body.
"You can't escape me forever, pevchaya ptitsa" his voice kept creeping closer towards me. I could hear the padding of his boots crunching under the leaf. Making its way towards me.
I could just make out the outline of his blue mask as i turned back, now wishing I hadn't. He was much closer than I realised and in a heartbeat, I picked up my pace and ran faster. His dark silhouette was illuminated by his blue mask.
The darkness engulfed my peripheral vision, so I blindly let my legs run for me. I knew he was behind me, inching nearer and closer. I wasn't much of a runner, but I believe that he was a few good feet away from me.
The branches limbs looked menacingly over me and all my fear could do was drive me towards survival. I couldn't let this psycho catch me.
My foot suddenly caught, whirling my arms to catch my balance and I found myself tumbling down a hill. Twigs and branches clawed at my arms and legs. The unforgiving burning sensation of pain shot through my body, hot seering pain.
"I've caught you now, ,moya malen'kaya pevchaya ptichka" I could fell goosebumps rising and a sudden chill rose in my spine as I could hear his deep, rugged voice as he spoke.I could taste the metallic tang of blood on my lips.
Dominik Volkov was an enigma personified. No one could ever figure out this giant beast of a man. He was just a 6'3 piece of meat , he was bulky not like Niko but close enough and he was packing in muscle. It could be all that hunting the Heathens did for their initiation.
"I've caught you now, pevchaya ptitsa"
My eyes snap open, I looked around and I breathed a sigh of relief as I realised I was still in the safe haven of my dorm. 2 bodies either side of me were still asleep. The girls had decided that we needed a sleepover in one of our rooms.
I knew the real reason was because of my reoccurring nightmare but I couldn't care less, I was just thankful that Cecily had suggested it at the time. It was 6:30 in the morning and I decided to get up from the bed, careful not to arouse the girls.
I went to the bathroom and I looked at my dishevelled appearance. My dark brown hair was tousled to either side of my face and I ran my fingers through my mop of hair, trying to make look presentable. My blue eyes look even more tired than usual, with dark circles encroaching the surrounding area of my eyes. My faces littered with scars around my eyebrow and cheek.
Like usual, my eyes drifted towards the jagged keloid scar that was on my hand. Reminder of that night. I've had the same reoccurring nightmare for months, and they have all ended the same way with me waking up and screaming blue murder.
"You ready to attack the school day, Bon" I'm pulled out of my thoughts as I turn to see one of my friends, Glyndon leaning against the bathroom door. She inched closer towards me, with worry etched across her face.
"Yeah, Glyn, let's go. The others can wake themselves up," I hated the look of pity and worry everyone has for me, acting as if they are walking on egg shells around me.
I don't need anyone's pity, not my friends, not my family or my siblings. No one's.
