Chapter 3 ©Catt
I'm sitting alone at my usual place in the lunchroom picking at the stuff on my tray they call food. I'm not sure what it is but I believe it's supposed to be some kind of pasta. Hearing a loud commotion I look up to see my stepbrother and his friends entering. Of course the sight of him and his friends has everyone vying for their attention. Girls swarm Bo hoping he will turn his smile on them or give'em some type of sign they might have a chance with him. He has his arm around the girl of the week. He never stays with the same girl more than a couple of weeks yet every one of them believes they are the ones to change him.
I wish I could be more like him. He's out going and everyone loves him. He has it all. Looks, charm, money and popularity, he's even the captain of the football team. I see Logan step up next to him and Bo throws his arm around his neck like they are the best of friends. I cringe, praying Logan keeps to his word. If he tells Bo about seeing me yesterday I don't even want to consider what will happen. They must feel my eyes on them because they both turn their gazes towards me.
I watch as Bo and Logan head towards me with the rest of my stepbrothers friends following behind him like lost little puppy dogs. My brother steps up behind me while Logan sets down next to me.
"What have you got on your plate Libby loo?" Bo asked putting his hands on either side of my shoulders.
"I don't know...I'm not sure what it is." I reply trying my best not to look at Logan. I feel his eyes burning a hole through me. He is waiting on me to acknowledge him.
"Hey Logan this is my sister Libby. Libby this is Logan his family bought the house and property adjoining to ours." Bo squeezes my shoulders as he introduces me and Logan.
"Hi Libby it's nice to meet you. You look familiar have we met before?" You can hear the cattiness in his voice as he speaks.
I swallow hard and do my best to keep my body from tensing up, that would only raise Bo's suspicions. I know Logan has no idea what his behavior can cause but I can't help but want to slap that smirk right off his beautiful face just the same.
"Hello it's nice to meet you. Um...no we've haven't met before." I say this without ever looking in his direction.
"Are you sure because I could have sworn we seen each other before." The smirk is still firmly in place as he speaks.
"Look I've told you I don't know you nor do I care to know you. Bo could you take your "little mii" away from me he's beginning to get on my nerves." I know I sound like a bitch but I learned a long time ago it was better for people to believe i'm a bitch than to be covered in bruises. From the corner of my eyes I see the smirk leave Logan's face. Leaving his face hard and cold. I worry he will blab everything to Bo now. I should have thought of a better way to deal with him.
"Don't listen to her man. She can be a bit on the grumpy side." Bo says wrapping his arms around my neck and kisses the top of my head. "Meet me by my car after school I don't have practice so I'll take you home. Dad and Uncle John are grilling out on the grill so you'll be able to get something good to eat then." He places one last kiss on top of my head before letting go and motioning for Logan to follow him.
I sneak a look at Logan to see him staring at me. He is telling me with his eyes that if I don't meet him today he is going to blow me out of the water.
I give him a small nod of acknowledgement letting him know I understand then I call out to Bo. "Hey you may as well go on home without me I'll be about an hour late I've got to finish my report its due tomorrow so I am going to stay and put the library to use." God I pray he buys this and doesn't start asking questioning.
"I'll wait on you. I will meet you in the library after school and help you get it done." Bo says stopping and turning back towards me.
Logan understands what I am trying to do and speaks up before I can come up with another lie to tell my stepbrother.
"Hey man I thought you were going to take me to meet up with your guy today."
"Aw hell...shit I forgot bro. Can it wait till tomorrow?" Bo questions
"It's not a case of it can wait or not it's a case of I don't want to wait. I haven't had any good shit since I've moved here." Logan tells Bo crossing his arms across his massive chest.
Yea sure I got'ya will leave as soon as school gets out. Libby I can drop back by and pick you up." Bo says his eyes trained on me shining with regret.
"It's alright Bo I'll just walk I'll see you at the house later." I say hoping he goes along with me.
"Okay if you're sure?" Is his reply but before he gets the chance to say anything else his girl of the week wraps her arm around his waist and whispers something in his ear.
I watch as he leads her away sighing in relief that he bought my story. I turn my gaze back towards Logan to see him watching me. The way he is staring at me makes my heart rate speed up which is not a good thing. When I meet with him today I need to set him straight so he knows it will never happen again. He could cause me all kinds of problems that I don't need.
