"You are the craziest kid in the world." David laughs as Romeo unveils his newly bleached blonde hair. I was not aware that my son would be bleaching his hair until he surprised me mid flight after making the haste decision to do it in the bathroom.
I had brought a small amount on the plane thinking that I would touch up my roots before the event tonight then my little wildflower went and used it all up.
"Welcome to Miami." Romeo smiles widely and David snaps a photo of him before turning to me with a smile of his own.
"Maybe I need to join the bleach blonde squad too." He pulls up his hat to reveal his own locks. "It's been a while since I've done something crazy with my hair."
I laugh a little, "Now that would be a little crazy."
The Beckham family are here in Miami for a black tie event hosted by David Grutman and I received an invite so we used that as an opportunity to get together. After dropping our luggage off at our Miami property, Romeo took me out to brunch with his father which was a bit of surprise since I expected the rest of the clan to be there too.
The paparazzi are living for this moment as they have been filming us ever since we met up so I have been trying to keep it together because I don't want rumors circulating. Back in 2018, it was speculated that David and I were hooking up after we were spotted out together in Dubai which was true but we denied it.
David and Victoria had quietly parted ways which is what he had told me while we were at a wedding in Dubai. We had been reminiscing on the two years that we had spent together and how wild we were whenever we got together.
A moment transpired between us as I pulled up a photo on my phone of us engaging in a sex act during our trip to Bali and he suggested that we recreate that moment.
"When your mother and I were young, we were constantly being followed around by the paparazzi so while on a trip to Paris we bought some hair dye."
"Oh David." I cover my face while laughing. "Not this story."
Romeo looks at us while smiling, "What happened?"
"The intention was to dye our hair auburn so we could look a little unrecognisable and I had been 'secretly' growing out my hair and Serena was going to get a bob." David starts to laugh. "Long story boring, I ended up ginger and your mom looked like the character out of The Fifth Element."
We all start laughing.
"I even have the pictures to prove it." David surprises me by holding his phone to reveal a picture of us when we were a year into our relationship. I smile at how youthful and happy we looked despite us looking like we belonged in a looney bin. "These are your crazy parents who ended up looking even crazier."
