Chapter 17- the pack

McKenna's POV

We walk in to Derek's house and everyone's there..... Except the two that I wanted to see the most, Lydia and Liam.
"Where's Lydia?" I ask to no one in particular.
"She isn't here yet." Stiles answers nervously. I didn't know they were that good of friends... Or does he like have feelings for her... Nah! He has a girlfriend......but let's be honest, They'd be cute together.... I ship it.
"And she's with Liam?" Kira asks
"Yeah." Derek answers.
"Well where are they?" I ask getting louder and more angry
"We don't know." Malia says like she doesn't care at all.
"Well can't you like sniff for them or something?" I ask desperately
"They'll be here." Derek says and puts his arm around me.
"Can't you call her?" I ask
"I already did." Stiles says biting his finger nails
"Yeah. Three times." Malia adds obviously annoyed.
"Look I get it if you don't care but you could at least pretend to be concerned." I say getting really mad.
"I just don't get why we need her. I mean we have a new, better, less annoying, banshee in the pack." she says in a matter-o-fact tone. That's it. I drawl fire from the palms of my hands, about to burn a certain coyote to death when I hear a thud and hurried foot steps.
"McKenna stop!" Lydia screams. I listen and immediately retract the flames.
"Oh, Hey Lydie." I say like I wasn't about to burn someone to death.
"Were you seriously about to hurt her?" she asks
"Uh, Yeah. why?" I ask.
"Because, you can't hurt another member of the pack." Derek butts in
"I'm not part of her pack." I say glaring at her, she just rolls her eyes.
"Speaking of packs. There's one filled with all kinds of different supernatural creatures out to kill us." Stiles says clasping is hands "Ya know, if anyone cares."
"He has a point." Liam agrees.
"Okay then everyone shut up and listen to what we have to say." Braden says from the couch.
"Okay. Then talk." I say as I sit down next to Liam on the floor. I really want be his friend but, I think I have a crush on him. But I'm not risking getting attached to him.
"Me and Braden have done all we could do to find out as much as we could. There's seven people in all. First you have Landon and Marco, they're vampires A.K.A, the brains of the operation. Then there's the 3 windago's Brutus, Zander, and Leo, the muscle, And then there's Crystal. She's the newest to the pack and Landon's younger sister, she's just there because he wants her there. She's an ice princess and not a very big threat." Derek says.
"That's only six. Who's the seventh?" Stiles asks
"The leader, Tarynn. She's an ultra banshee." Braden says. Then something clicks in in my head. The ultra banshee, a very rare creature and Olivia's an ultra banshee, she probably wants to be the only one and sees her as a threat.
"Is that why the pack is after us?" I ask. Braden smiles and says,
"Exactly." everyone kinda nods like oh. Makes sense.
"I don't get it." Olivia says
"Ultra banshees are very rare and Tarynn is jealous of you because all you had to do was get bitten but she had to kill a lot of people and almost died many times." Braden answers.
"Looks like I'm going to have to have a talk with this 'Tarynn' women." Olivia says
"Don't count on that happening." Derek says
"Why?" She asks
"She hasn't been seen for 5 five years. She's done way to much damage to show her face. That's why she gets everyone else to do her dirty work." Derek says
"Most of them teenagers. May I add." Braden says
"Well....Ugh!" Olivia screams in frustration.
"So you're telling me, Peter put all of us in danger because he decided to bite her?" I ask motioning towards Olivia.
"Pretty much."Derek says.
"So he made a mistake. Big whoop!" Melia says
"I'm not sure it was a mistake. Remember the time him and Kate tried to kill Scott...and the time he went on a national killing spree.... And the time he made a supernatural dead pool...and the time he-" Stiles says
"We get it! He's made some mistakes." Malia screams.
"He tried to kill Scott?" I ask
"Yeah." Stiles answers
"So any way! What are we gonna do about the pack?" Kira asks
"The first thing We gotta do, is make sure Olivia is safe. Probably a good idea to keep Lydia safe too. In case she decides she wants to kill all the banshees." Derek says
"Okay, then what?" I ask
"Well. We need Partners." Braden says
"What do you mean?" Liam asks
"Most of the pack goes to your school. So you each need to pick someone that you can stick with for most of the day." Braden says
"I call Scott!" Stiles yells.
"I wanted Kira." Scott says.
"Dude. We're always partners." Stiles says like he's deeply hurt.
"Fine." Scott agrees. Stiles does a happy dance.
"Then I call Kira." Malia says.
"I'm good with that." she answers
"I call Liam." I say. He smiles then Lydia asks,
"What about me?"
"Lydie, Looks like your with Olivia." I say.
"I have a feeling we're gonna be really good friends." Olivia says walking over to Lydia.
"I sure hope so." she answers
"Is it really a good idea to put the two that are being hunted together?" Liam ask
"Good point pipsqueak, Lydia you're with Stiles and Scott. Olivia, your with Kira and Malia" Braden says
"I wanted to be with-" Olivia begins
"It doesn't matter who you want to be with. Groups should be fine." Braden says.
"Olivia, McKenna. Come with me." Derek says. We do as he says and he leads us to his car.
