A few days later, the tragedy struck.

"Inuyasha, no!" Kikyo cried out as she watched Inuyasha getting pierced by the Root Head. She and Mana were saved by Inuyasha when the Root Head attempted to kill them. Kikyo was protecting Mana in her arms holding her close to her.

When Inuyasha was stabbed through his heart, he delivered a final attack and transported the Root Head to the black void with the Meido Zangetsuha. When the battle was over, Inuyasha collapsed as he dropped his sword and the wounded chest was starting to bleed out hard.

"Inuyasha!" Kikyo cried out again as she ran up to him. Everyone gathered around, watching Inuyasha suffer, grieving for him.

"Papa!" Mana cried out, tears streaming down her face.

"Hang on, Inuyasha! I'll fix you up!" Kikyo said.

He gave her a weak smile. "There is nothing you could do, Kikyo... but you can't save me..." He said, "I love you, Kikyo... Take care of Mana for me..."

"Papa, please don't leave us..." Mana sobbed, pleading with him.

He smiled at his daughter as he caressed her cheek. "Take care of your mom for me, little soldier... I know you'll be strong enough like I am..."

Mana nodded. "O-Okay..."

"Oh, Inuyasha..." Kikyo sobbed.

He looked over and saw his friends crying. "I love you, guys... Take care... You all always been in my heart..."

"We love you, too, Inuyasha. You don't deserve this." Kagome sobbed as she embraced Goku tightly, letting her emotions out. With those final words, Inuyasha took his last breath and passed away.

"Inuyasha!" Everyone, except Vegeta and Piccolo, cried out.

"Bring him back, Sesshomaru, please..." Kikyo sobbed, pleading with him.

"You know as well as I, Kikyo, but the sword can only be used once. I am sorry." Sesshomaru said, looking down at the ground.

Then Kikyo buried her face into Inuyasha's chest and started to cry out. Everyone has to stand there, watching Kikyo suffer. Kagome hugged Goku harder and continued to cry. Vegeta stood there watching with arms folded. He never cared at all.

Piccolo came up to her and comforted her gently. "I am sorry, Kikyo."

She doesn't say anything. She continued to cry hard. Piccolo started to feel bad for Kikyo for losing a husband. He never believed this was happening again.
