The plan was formed as they walked down the street to the Pokémon Center. Serena would go shopping with Lillie, and they would meet Ash back at the beach later.

After he actually got dressed.

Serena, through the still awkward air between them, glanced over at Ash. His hair was still rumpled, and somehow even messier than usual. Bedhead wasn't kind to her raven-haired friend. Speaking of, his pajamas were altogether too small. They were the same pair from last year, and they were starting to show their age. Surely they'd shrunk many times in the wash, because it fit more like a crop top with the way it showed off Ash's toned lower abdomen. Not to mention, they still showed off his shoulders, which now had a golden sheen from the bright Alolan sun. Although, no matter how nice his shoulders were, they couldn't compare to the way his collarbones what was she doing stop it stop it!

Serena shook her head forcefully as they finally arrived outside the Pokémon Center. She didn't have time to be ogling Ash in his pajamas. She had to help Lillie!

Gritting her teeth and looking decidedly away from any of Ash's bare skin, Serena spoke up.

"Well, I guess we'll see you at the beach later, and then I'll see you... at the beach tonight, I guess?"

Ash nodded, "The beach for sure with Lillie, but I'm not sure where we'll end up tonight for the uh... anyways, I'll let you know, I'm going to try and figure something out."

Serena raised her eyebrows in questioning, but Ash just laughed and started walking down the road.

"No need to worry, I'll see you tonight for sure."

Serena watched silently as Ash ran off down the road. It was unfair really. Why did he have to look so cute in his stupid pajamas, with his stupidly ruffled hair?

With a frustrated sigh, the honey-blonde girl turned around and marched into the Pokémon Center. She was an ace performer! A champion in Hoenn! She wasn't the type to get distracted! She could focus on other things right now, and ogle Ash all she wanted later. She needed to help out Lillie.

Fortunately, since it was still pretty early in the morning, the Pokémon Center was empty, save for one blonde girl.

"Hey Lillie! How'd it go? Is Snowy in good health?"

The blonde girl turned and held up Snowy's Pokéball in a decidedly confident pose.

"Yep! Snowy is all ready for battle!"

Serena chuckled at the display. Something about it just screamed Ash . All that was missing was an appropriate outfit. Speaking of which...

"Alright Pokémon trainer Lillie, let's go get you some battling clothes."

~~~
"Why is shopping so difficult? None of these sizes are the same. Here, look at this." Lillie held up a pink skirt and a red skirt side by side. "These are both size five. But they are different sizes! How does that make any sense?"
Serena smirked. "Well, that's just how girl's clothes are made. I think it's a good thing though."
Lillie shot her a confused look.
"It means you get to try everything on first before you buy it. Here, try these on." Serena handed Lillie a few sundresses, similar to the one she was wearing, but just a bit more comfortable, and with a bit more color.
The blonde girl took the dresses gratefully, but right before she got through the door of the dressing room Serena saw her shoot them a slight look of disdain.
