Princess Grace woke up due to a knock on her door. She yawned and walked over to open it. There stood one of the knights, who was already in the bow position by the time she opened it.
Sir Dylan: "Good morning, your highness. Before breakfast begins, the king and queen have requested your presence in the throne room"
Princess Grace: "Of course. Thank you so much."
The knight bowed once again and left down the hall. The princess was confused as to why she was being called so early. She quickly put on one of her favorite pink dresses and shoes before gracefully walking down the hallway. She walked down the staircase and down the hallway on the right to the throne room. The princess passed a few knights that bowed when she passed and she waved and told each one good morning.
Princess Grace walked in and she immediately stopped in her tracks. There, next to her parents, stood Sir John. She already had an uneasy feeling about this conversation, so seeing him near her parents made it much worse. Somehow, she knew he told her parents about everything!
He did, of course. What else was he supposed to do? He noticed her absence many time before, and finally chose to speak up about it. Princess Grace walked in while subtly glaring at the knight.
King Francis informed her that she will now have a guard with her at all times for her safety. What happened last night could not happen again according to him. Clearly, the knight spilled everything.
Princess Grace: "But father please! I can't stand having someone so close to me all of the time. I'm fine on my own. I promise!"
Sir John couldn't believe what she was saying. Then again, she had no idea that man was about to rob her. He will give her that. However, he would not let her win this because he couldn't imagine her being alone and something happening to her.
Sir John: "Fine?! Who knows what would've happened if I hadn't been there?"
The princess shot him a "please stop talking" look at the knight before continuing. In return, Sir John rolled his eyes. She was just being stubborn, that's all. Typical princess behavior.
Princess Grace: " Please father! I don't need a knight."
The king went on to mention that she does not just need any knight, but the one standing in this very room with them. Princess Grace's eyes widened and she was in shock. It can't be him. Anyone but him! The king looked over at the knight and asked him if this was okay.
Sir John smiled and bowed. Although this is not exactly what he had in mind, he was glad it worked out in his favor.
Sir John: "It would be an honor, your majesty."
The princess was still in shock, but she was already thinking of ways she could shake him so she could be alone. She knew she had to be sneaky with him because he was one of the best knights that her kingdom had.
Princess Grace: "If you'll excuse me."
She subtly glared once again at the knight before gracefully storming out. The last thing she wanted was to draw more attention to herself. Why him!?
The knight followed her quickly, but not too quickly. He did deeply care for the princess, of course, but she clearly didn't care for him. The princess, turned and crossed her arms while giving him another look.
