The sun's rays kissed your cheek, casting a warm glow through your closed eyelids. You emerged from sleep and turned to Logan. He was still asleep in the chair, his hair slightly ruffled from the night.

You had heard him tossing and turning again in the early hours, but this time he had quickly calmed down.

You shifted in your bed to lie on your back again and were surprised to notice that your wound almost didn't hurt anymore. You let your claws come out and in a few seconds only, the skin around your bloody knuckles healed. A rush of excitement filled you and you smiled widely; you were really getting better. You took a deep breath to regain some kind of calm and retracted your metal claws.

Inevitably, your eyes fell back on Logan. His sleeping body gained a softness that he didn't have when he was awake. His usually tense hands lay loosely on the armrest and his expression was serene for once. You couldn't help but linger on his mouth for a moment, his slightly parted lips unmentionably compelling.

As the sunlight reached his seat, he stirred awake, his eyes fluttering open. His irises glowed in a bright hazel in the morning light and his sleepy gaze fell upon you. For a few seconds, none of you said anything. Then, his pragmaticism returned and he said.

'The food supplies are low. I'll need to go into town today.'

A spark of excitement made you jolt up.

'Can I come?'

He answered quickly as if he'd expected you to ask.

'Yes, but you'll stay in the car.'

You nodded with a big smile on your face and sprung up, already buzzing with excitement.

You had been walking for almost an hour when you finally reached the car. Logan had never talked about it, and as per usual you had been left to piece things together on your own.

He had to pull a few times on the frozen door handle before it finally gave in, and you hopped into the passenger seat. Inside the vehicle, the air was freezing. You tried to touch as little of the cold leather seat as possible and sat awkwardly as Logan spurred the engine on. With a rattle, the truck finally started, and Logan turned the heating on.

'Put your hands on there,' he instructed and you eagerly placed your stiff fingers against the warm air vent.

The car drove forward and you bumped back into your seat. Your hand instinctively grabbed the door handle for balance and you watched as Logan manoeuvred between the trees.

'You've never been in a car before?' He asked, shooting you a glance.

'No,' you whispered through gritted teeth.

'You should put your seatbelt on,' he said and seeing you look around with confused air, he reached his arm in front of you and strapped you in. You held your breath as his arm grazed past you, fuelling a little fire inside your chest. He quickly retracted his hand onto the wheel, eyes focused on the path. A few moments later, the car reached a road emerging from the trees.

'You never told me there was a town,' you said after a while of looking at the condensation that had emerged on the window. 'I thought you were self-sufficient up there.'

'I try to avoid it,' he said, his eyes fixed on the road. 'The town people aren't exactly friendly with people like us.'

'Oh...'

Too many thoughts flashed through your mind, but the only thing you could manage to ask was:

'Is this where you're going to leave me once I've recovered?'
