As Candice was getting ready for the day ahead of her, she was still in shock from yesterdays events and still had thoughts running threw her head about her mother running away from her. Candice decided to turn on her radio to block out her thoughts as they began to darken. She turned the channel to the reggae station and turned the volume all the way up. Candice sang while getting dressed and brushing her teeth before making her way down stairs to make some cereal, Candice ate silently until the bowl was empty and then had her last sip of orange juice before heading out the door to her mums friends house.
Candice walked slowly to her mums friends house Taking notice of small things around the street was walking down, she noticed that there wasn't a lot of trees or bushes around her area but a lot of spray paint that the youth in the area do in the evening. While she was stuck in her thoughts she didn't realize she was already at her mums friends house.
Candice's mums friend wasn't the nicest of people she never had been, when she was a little girl she would always be round her house having sleepovers as her mums friend Darla had a daughter the same age as her and a plus was Candice's mother always stayed there too. But the difference with Darla was that she is a mean addict so when Darla's daughter had stepped out of line or annoyed her mum she was get a slap and was told she couldn't do anything right. A few years later she was taken off her mother and Candice's mum and Candice stopped going round there but lately her mum had been going round there again.
Candice stood at the door took a deep breath and knocked waiting for an answer. A few seconds later the door opens. " hi Darla it's Candice, I'm Laura's daughter and I was wondering if you have spoken to my mum recently" Candice said in a rush to get answers. "No sorry dear but I haven't spoke to your mum for a few weeks but I have her partners number I could give to you" Darla said while slurring on her words, it was clear she was off her head on some drug. "Yes please Darla that would be great" Candice replied knowing this "partner" was probably the guy her mum had ran off with. Darla wrote the number and then placed it in Candice's hand. " there you go hun take care of your self" " you too" Candice replied quickly after then placing the paper with the phone number on in her pocket.....
