rinzu felt a tight knot of stress coiling in her stomach. she hadn't seen suna since their confrontation at the restaurant, and the weight of guilt distracted relentlessly.

every time she thought about reaching out to him, her pride tugged her back. she wanted to talk, really talk, for once without bickering.

now, she found herself back at her dorm, desperately trying to focus on something else. she had just returned from the fabric store, her hands full of new materials for her latest project.

the dull hum of her sewing machine filled the room as she worked, her fingers deftly guiding the fabric. rinzu was good at what she did, but her perfectionism often got the best of her.

every seam, every stitch had to be flawless, and even if no one else could see the imperfections, she hunted them down mercilessly.

"can we go out?" keiko, whined, rolling lazily on her bed. keiko's eyes were glued to rinzu, who was bent over her project, clearly too absorbed to even look up.

"not today, sorry kei." rinzu muttered, barely paying attention as the sewing machine hummed louder. she was too deep in her own thoughts, trying to drown out the guilt with work, as if stitching fabric could somehow piece together the mess in her mind.

keiko groaned dramatically, hugging her plush tightly. "ugh, i could hang out with my brother and akaashi today, but i really don't want to be their third wheel slash photographer."

the mention of her friends barely registered with rinzu, who was still dragging the cloth beneath the needle, her focus sharp. "then don't go." she said flatly, her eyes never leaving the fabric.

"you're such a workaholic. do you ever take a break?" keiko sat up on her bed, eyeing rinzu's project with concern. "you've been doing this for hours. don't you need a breather?"

rinzu's fingers faltered for a moment, but she quickly regained her composure, shaking her head. "i'm fine. just trying to get this fabric into the— there ya go. phew." but keiko wasn't convinced.

"come on," keiko urged, swinging her legs off the bed. "you're stressed, i can tell. is this about suna?"

the question hit harder than rinzu expected. she paused, her fingers gripping the fabric a little too tightly. she had managed to avoid talking about suna all day, but keiko had a way of seeing through her defenses.

she had already spilled everything to keiko. the messy history with suna, the fallout, the recent revelations about risa, and keiko was fully invested in the drama.

in fact, when she first heard about risa's manipulation, she'd gone off about how that girl deserves to be "beaten up." rinzu had laughed at that, but part of her couldn't deny how satisfying that idea sounded in her head.
