if a lover isn't officially your lover... are they really your lover? or are you just someone easy to love? rinzu had been mulling this over ever since the night she and suna shared that kiss.

the memory felt vivid, almost like a scene out of one of those romance dramas keiko was always dragging her into. it felt genuine, that much she knew.

but without any real confession from him, she was caught in a limbo of wondering and hoping. did he actually like her? or was she just reading too much into it?

she shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts. you're overthinking, again, she told herself. but the kiss lingered in her mind, persistent, stubborn, impossible to ignore.

she even wanted to bring it up to suna afterward, tell him how she felt, but every time she worked up the courage, he was either nowhere to be found or... well, she chickened out.

now, with time dragging on and no clear answer, she felt herself slowly going insane.

it didn't help that she'd caught herself daydreaming more than usual, replaying their kiss in her mind. she was even dreaming about him, apparently.

keiko teased her mercilessly that morning and claimed she caught her giggling in her sleep.

it was embarrassing, really. this wasn't the same rinzu who'd been completely over suna just a few months ago. but here she was, tripping over her own thoughts, far too aware of the tug in her heart.

"by the way, suna came by the other day." keiko suddenly announced as they strolled through campus after their lectures.

rinzu perked up immediately, trying to keep her expression casual. "what did he say?"

"not much. i told him you were still in class, so he left. brought coffee, too, but didn't leave it with me."

the thought of him showing up, coffee in hand, made her heart do a silly flip. "cute." she murmured, adjusting her earmuffs as a grin spread across her face.

keiko gave her an exaggerated eye roll, nudging her playfully. "you're so down bad. four months ago, you were saying you wanted to punch him in the face."

she sighed, unable to stop the little smile forming. "i know, it's crazy. but i can't help it." her voice softened, trailing off as she looked off into the distance.

keiko didn't miss the faraway look in her eyes, shaking her head with a smile. "girl, just talk to him," she urged. "before you lose your mind over this."

"i will, if i can ever find him." rinzu muttered, glancing at her phone yet again. she texted suna multiple times, asking where he was and if he wanted to talk, but she was met with radio silence.
