The night air felt tense as the car sped down the coastal road toward Dumangas Port. The trio sat in silence, their minds racing with the events that had just unfolded. Bjorn stared out the window, replaying Johnny Cortes' taunts in his head, his wounds still fresh both physically and mentally. Zyro was focused on the road, his usual calm demeanor now carrying an edge of urgency. Spike, seated in the back, kept the mood light, though even he couldn't shake the tension completely.
Just then, Bjorn's phone buzzed. The name on the screen read: Luke.
Bjorn groaned and answered the call, putting it on speaker. "What do you want, Luke?"
"Nice to hear your voice too, Bjorn," Luke's voice dripped with sarcasm on the other end. "I see you've been busy running around like headless chickens."
"Get to the point," Bjorn snapped.
Luke chuckled darkly. "The car you're in has a tracker. Vanong's been listening in on your little escape."
Bjorn's stomach dropped, his hand instinctively reaching for the dashboard. "You put a tracker on us?"
Spike groaned, leaning forward. "Typical. Just when I thought we were finally getting some breathing room."
Zyro cursed under his breath, gripping the steering wheel tighter. "So Vanong knows everything, then."
"Everything," Luke confirmed smugly. "Including your little showdown at the warehouse with Johnny. And trust me, Vanong's not pleased."
"Well, that's no surprise," Bjorn muttered, pinching the bridge of his nose. He hadn't expected Vanong to take this well, but he wasn't prepared to deal with his father figure's wrath while trying to stop Johnny.
"Look," Luke said, his tone shifting slightly. "Vanong's furious, but he also knows what's at stake. He wants you to meet him at Dumangas Port. Johnny's making his move, and we need to stop him."
Bjorn shared a glance with Zyro, then Spike. "You expect us to just trust him after everything?"
"Trust him or don't," Luke replied flatly. "But you and I both know if Johnny gets his hands on Conrad's full power, we're all dead. So get over it and meet us there."
There was a pause before Bjorn spoke again. "Fine. We'll meet you at the port, but Vanong needs to know what we're up against. Johnny's stronger than we thought, and he's got a whole pack of werewolves ready to use Conrad's power to take control of the supernatural world."
"Vanong already knows," Luke said. "But I'll make sure he gets every detail from you personally."
With that, the line went dead. Bjorn sighed, rubbing his temple as he slumped back into his seat.
"Well, that went about as well as expected," Spike said with a sigh. "Guess we're meeting the big boss after all."
Zyro shot him a quick glance. "You think Vanong's gonna help us, or is this just another trap?"
Bjorn shook his head. "I don't know. But if Johnny gets Conrad to the werewolves at the port, this whole thing is over. We don't have a choice but to go."
Spike crossed his arms, leaning back. "Great. A doomed mission with a dysfunctional family reunion. Can't wait."
Despite the tension, a small smirk tugged at Bjorn's lips. "Let's just get through this, alright? We've survived worse."
Zyro nodded. "Then we take the fight to Johnny. No matter what happens, we can't let him get away with Conrad."
The lights of Dumangas Port flickered ahead in the distance, the stage set for the next confrontation. Whatever awaited them at the port—Johnny, the pirates, or even Vanong's wrath—they had to be ready for anything.
