The battle has slowly ended.
You were huffing and trying to catch your breath, searching for your inhaler, before hearing something crash landed only a few feet away from you. You turned your head and stared at Optimus on his knees, swaying side to side.
"Optimus?" You muttered through your breaths as you grabbed the key shaped Allspark that was hanging around your neck. You gripped it tightly as you saw Optimus suddenly fall to his side. "Optimus!" You screamed louder before you started running toward him.
You tasted blood in the back of your throat. You weren't sure if it cause you were out of breath or you had internal bleeding from dodging a blast earlier at the right moment. You stumbled a bit as you got closer to Optimus, seeing his blue optics fade in and out. You finally got to his face plate, your hands on his cold metal face. "Don't you die on me," you felt tears swell up in your eyes as you yanked the key off from your neck. "Stay alive dammit!"
You held the AllSpark key over him, seeing him sigh heavily. "Optimus stay with me!" You begged through coughs as you stood up weakly and traveled down his body, heading toward his chest plate; holding the key towards his metal body.
Memories of meeting Optimus Prime and the adventures started playing through your mind:
you remembered meeting Optimus for the first time - you were driving your dads black truck from work when suddenly you were being blasted at by a strange aircraft following you really close to the ground. One of the blasts hit the tire, causing you to lost control, but as you felt yourself suddenly flying through the air Ironhide transformed and gently tossed you to another giant metal hand. That was when you came face to face with Optimus, who blasted the enemy aircraft with his cannon gun as he bend your human body close to his chest so you didn't get hit with any debris.
You remembered when Optimus selected a secondary vehicle mode - a blue truck with red frames - so he could escort you to and from college. You remembered occasionally looking out your campus window and seeing h in the parking lot. When your class schedule was done and you were moving to the next classroom - he was always there.
You remembered the first time Optimus got seriously hurt, missing part of his shoulder. You couldn't stop crying and begging Ratchet to fix him. When Ratchet couldn't do anything more, you decided to do something stupid and ran over to the Allspark, cursing it out and calling it stupid. "I get told you're the main life source of the Autobots and Decepticons, and I get it if you want to cower away from the evil guys - but that doesn't mean you cower and hide away from Optimus!" You even kicked the giant cube, screaming in pain as you felt pain shoot in your leg into your bad knee. You didn't care, though. You stood up and punched it again, feeling pain shoot through your wrist up to your elbow. "Do what you need to do you stupid metal block and fix Optimus!" You demanded with tears stinging your eyes. This moment was the moment the allspark shifted and merged into a giant key you were able to hold in your wrist. You grabbed it and ran over to Optimus, using it to fix his shoulder.
"You stupid key!" You cried as you crawled over his chest plate, getting to where you assumed was his spark chamber. "Work, dammit!"
"Y/N..." Optimus groaned in pain. You refused to meet his optics.
"Don't worry, Optimus- I'll fix it!" You insisted as the Allspark key was hovering over his spark chamber. "I'll fix this, and you'll come back, and we can fix Cybertron together!"
"Y/N, stop, please..." he insisted weakly. "My time has come to an end,"
"No! I refuse to believe it!" You snapped at him, jabbing his chest plate with the Allspark key.
You didn't hear anything from Optimus after that. You didn't hear his breathing. His gears moving and shifting. Just nothing but silence and the wind blowing over your face.
"Optimus wake up, this isnt funny." You insisted, glaring at his offline optics. "Wake up."
You heard a few of his comrades surrounding him as you kept trying to crawl around his chest, hovering the key everywhere you could reach. "This isn't funny, man! Wake up!"
You started crying, the Autobots sharing your pain with their silence.
"Cmon, Y/N," Drift tried ushering you before you smacked the back of his hand. You helped feeling a sharp break in your wrist.
"I'm not leaving." You forced through your mouth as you held your wrist up to your chest, crying from the new pain.
"Y/N, I'm pretty sure your wrist is broken, cmon!" Cade shouted from the ground as you did your best to crawl closer to Optimus' chin, seeing an opening.
You hovered the key over the opening, using the little strength to catch your breath and hold your wrist up. Your entire body began shaking. "Allspark, I'm sorry for insulting you before!" You coughed out in between breaths. "I'll be nicer to you and everyone else! I'll quit being a shithead! I just need you to fix Optimus - please! Even if it means taking half of my life - or the entire thing - just use it to please fix my best friend!"
You suddenly cough really hard and dropped the key into Optimus. You screamed, "No!" And tried to reach for the key, not realizing you were pushing your injured wrist between you and the metal, causing you to scream and curl into a fetal position, grasping your wrist to your chest.
Tears fell down your face and were dropping down the same hole the key was in. Ironhide knelt down and held his cervo out to Y/N. "Hey kid," he ushered you gently. "Cmon; I'll take you to the hospital. Your wrist has to be next to messed up, and your breathing ain't no good either."
You slowly sat you and crawled into Ironhide's cervo. "Please come back, dear friend." You begged, staring at Optimus before Ironhide brought you to the hospital.
Sometime later, you were in a hospital bed, hooked up to an oxygen tank and your wrist in a thicker than typical cast. The doctor came in sometime after you woke up stating that your wrist was shattered completely up to the middle of your forearm, and you were gonna be wearing a cast for a couple of months. And you were going to need to stay for a few nights because of how low your oxygen was; they needed to evaluate your brain and get oxygen pumping through you.
When he left, you sighed heavily and looked outside, seeing trees and clouds in the sky. You closed your eyes, feeling weak.
You woke up later to sensing a presence in the room. You opened your eyes and immediately saw Cade sitting down in the chair next to you. "Hey, don't you have somewhere better to be?" You teased.
"No, I am right where I want to be." You heard something that was NOT Cade's voice. You jolted up in bed and looked at the person more, seeing what looked like an older version of Cade... but it wasn't Cade?
How much time passed when you fell asleep?
"Who are you?" Was all you could ask.
The man got up, and he was definitely a few inches taller than Cade. He stepped towards you before sitting gently on the bed. He then raised his hand and pointed out the window.
Scared, you stared at him for a second before looking outside, seeing a familiar semi truck out there in the parking lot. You snapped your head back at the man and saw part of his arm glitching. "Optimus?" You muttered. "But... how?"
"The Allspark and you made a connection that brought me back to life," Optimus' human holograph smiled kindly at you. "Ironhide told me where you were, and I wanted to come by and thank you for saving my life. I am entirely in your debt."
You smiled before jumping up and hugging the human Optimus, surprised you didn't fall through him. You felt his human arms hug you back. "Thank the Allspark." You muttered.
"Now you sound too much like a Cybertronian." Optimus teased, earning a playful smack on his back from your good hand.
