Throughout the night. Cross was confused by Nightmares' sudden actions. He wasn't going to lie, he kinda liked this side of Nightmare.
But he wouldn't get his hopes up. Not after everything that happened. He couldn't help but hope for a change...
But would it really happen after all this time..?
'No that doesn't seem right..'
Cross couldn't help but sigh.
'He's hated me ever since I met him. How could he possibly wake up one day and say he loves me!'
The Ball was almost over, and he had
stayed away from the Dark Lord for a bit.
'Im ready to go to sleep.'
He drank more of his wine before placing it back onto the table.
"Cross, dearest."
The smaller turned to the owner of the voice.
"Oh, my Lord? Do you need something?"
Nightmare raised a hand for Cross to take. The smaller merely looked at it.
"Would you like to go for a Dance, my love?"
Cross was stunned.
The other would never offer a Dance, much less call him 'love'.
"A-A dance?"
The taller merely nodded.
"I uhm..."
The smaller displayed a rather confused and hurt expression on his face.
What happened to Nightmare?
Nightmare gently grabbed ahold of Cross' hand and pulled him closer to his chest.
"Cmon, my dear, I'm sure you know how to twirl."
And with that, they left towards the dance floor.
Many others joined in. Others watched the couple in awe.
It was a slow dance, Cross was rather nervous and looked around the room for a bit, although Nightmare never tool his gaze off of Cross.
"You look stunning today, you know that?"
Cross blushed a mauve.
"I-I do?"
"Of course, you always do."
Cross looked to the floor once more.
He was still blushing.
"I-Im getting rather tired, My Lord. Maybe we should wrap this u-up?"
The King cackled.
"Of course darling'
Mid-way through a spin, Nightmare wrapped an arm around the smaller waist, dipping him before planting a soft kiss to his lips.
The crowd seemed rather delighted at the fact. Never seeing this interaction between the couple.
Cross' sockets widened at the fact, immediately blushing more purple.
The kiss only lasted so long, Nightmare finally pulled away.
"I love you."
