You were sitting in Luke's diner having coffee and enjoying the atmosphere of the dinner. Luke was gone for the day doing who knows what so you didn't have anyone to talk to really. You saw lorelai and rory walk in and you wave to them and they sit by you.
"Hey y/n" lorelai says to you with a smile
"Hey lorelai!" You respond excitedly. They order coffee too and you guys sit in scilence. Well, for about 3 seconds before a buzz cut dickhead comes in and starts almost yelling at lorelai.
"Rory is my daughter, i should be a part of her life!" He yells.
"WHAT are you talking about chris you are" she yells back.
"Well-" he pauses, "I want to be a part of your life too, we're ment to be lore, me you and our daughter" he pleas.
"YEAH, the daughter i took care of for years by myself"
"Just give me one more chance" he begs and lorelai drags him out of the diner. You and rory watch and can faintly hear words from inside the dinner.
"NO, we're over, you have a kid at home anyway" lorelai yells
"She has a babysitter she's fine" he says
"No, it's your daughter, don't leave her like you left rory" lorelai says
"I want to be here for you and rory" he won't let go of the situation. You watch as lorelai looks at him in disbelief.
"Where were you all those years when I really needed you then?"
"I-" he was speechless "my parents wouldn't let me, I was like 17." You walk out to where they are talking and wrap your arm around lorelai.
"Are you bothering my girl?" You ask defensively. His face drops in disbelief.
"Your what?"
"My girl, do I need to spell it out for you MY G.I.R.L"
"Lore-i never knew you liked girls"
"You were never around to know me" she rolled her eyes. Chris looks between you and lorelai and slowly starts backing away.
"Fine, I'll leave" he says and walks away, you keep your arm around lorelai as you walk in the diner incase Chris looks back to you.
"Thank you y/n, you didn't have to do that" lorelai said.
"It's no problem lorelai, he was annoying me just listening to him talk to you like that" you said. You remember her saying that Chris was never around long enough to know she liked girls and wondered if that was true or if it was just to get him off her back.
"Lorelai?" You ask
"Yeah what's up?"
"Was the part of you liking girls true or was that just-?"
"It was true" she says somewhat shyly
"So if I asked you on a date I'd have a shot or am i that ugly?" You joke. She laughs
"I'd definitely say yes, your beautiful, kind, funny, caring, basically the whole package" she says making you blush.
"Basically? Why not totally?" You question
"Cause it's taking you to long to actually ask me out" she says.
"Well lorelai, will you go on a date with me?" You ask
"I thought you'd never ask, Friday at 5:30 work?" She ask
"I'll pick you up then" You wave goodbye as her and rory head out to do gilmore girl stuff.
