The Unknown Banshee

Chapter Forty Six

Serena woke before Paul and she managed to wiggle her way out from his hold. When she got out of bed she looked over her shoulder to make sure he was still asleep,  which he was. It was almost rare when she would be able to get out of his hold, he was either up before her or would wake up in an instant when she would leave the bed but this time he was still fast asleep.

As soon as she was out of bed, she made her way to the kitchen to start making breakfast for the three of them and prepare for lunch and possibly dinner for Sue as well. While she was finishing up dinner, she was greeted by her little sister, Lena, walking down the stairs rubbing the tiredness from her eyes as she was greeted with the sweet smell of french toast in the morning.

"Morning." Lena mumbled as she sat down at the kitchen table.

"Good morning." Serena responded back as she leaned on the counter table watching her sister drink her orange juice before taking a bite of her breakfast. "Slow down. You might choke." She continued just as Lena started to cough. "See." She finished as she came around to pat her sister on the back.

"Your french toast is just so good." She lightly giggled back.

"Well it better be good since it's a part of the menu for the diner." Serena told her.

"It is?" A new voice asked as they descended the stairs. "Morning." He told Serena as he came up to her and brought her to him to kiss her head.

"Good morning." Serena told Paul as soon as he let her go. "And yes it is." She finished as she pushed his plate closer to him. "Aside from Lena, you'll be the first to eat something off the new menu." She told Paul as he started to dig in as well but as soon as she walked away she gave the same advice she gave Lena to him. "And slow down before you choke okay."

She told him as soon as she heard a grunt come from him so she turned around to see him and all he did was nod and give her a thumbs up as if saying "okay you got it." However it was just a cover up from him choking in front of her. "Great." She said aloud as she turned back around to get ready to go to Sue's place.

"You should really chew your food Paul." Lena told Paul as soon as her sister was out of ear shot.

Paul turned to her as soon as he finished drinking juice to wash down what he was eating to have her laugh at him for literally the same thing just moments ago. "You're one to talk."

"Now kids stop fighting." Serena told them both as they snapped their heads towards her.

"He started it." "She started it." Paul and Lena said in unison.

"And I'm ending it." Serena told them as she chuckled at their childish behavior or more so Paul's behavior when he's with Lena. "Come on." She started as she looked at Lena. "Go get ready so we can get to Sues and you need to get to Sam." Giving him a knowing look.

"You got me in trouble." Paul mumbled to Lena as he got up. Lena responded by sticking her tongue out to him.

"Arguing with a child. Really." Serena told him as she came up to him to walk him to the tree line. "She's bating you, you know that." She continued as he looked at her with an incredulous look on his face. "You make it so easy to tease you." She chuckled as she kissed his cheek and right before she was able to walk away from him, he grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him and kissed her, really kissed her before he left the house.

"See you later." He told her as he finally let her go to leave.

"Can we go now?" Lena asked from the door as she was leaning on it. Despite them having their arguments, Lena wanted what her sister had with Paul. Imprint or not, she wanted that kind of love they had, the kind of love their parents had but she didn't want that with just anybody because her heart was set on Seth.
