"Ha???"
Adeline's POV
I wanted to laugh at what Matti said. I already had an idea of what she was thinking. She blinked rapidly, realizing what slipped from her mouth. "Ah, wala. Usap nalang tayo later."
The plane landed in Siargao, and Matti rushed out of the airport. She even booked a return flight to Manila right away. Patay na patay ata sa 'kin eh.
"Beh, clingy niya. Ayaw mo ng clingy 'di ba?" Stefanie teased as we prepared the plane for the flight back to Manila.
"Ewan ko. Okay lang naman kapag siya," I responded.
"Ay, kerengkeng ka d'yan, girl!" Stefanie teased, making me laugh.
As a flight attendant, I've seen it all. I've been in this industry since I graduated, and I've dealt with all kinds of people, including the indecent proposals. I've had my share of flings—nothing serious, just passing connections. But with Matti, it feels different. I want her.
I felt excited to see her again, knowing she was afraid of flying yet still made the effort. It made me appreciate her even more. This wasn't just a one-night stand for her, and from our conversation last night, I could tell she wanted to know me better.
"Malala ka na. Nag-i-spray ka lang d'yan pero nakangiti ka," Stefanie said, snapping me back to reality.
Malala nga siguro tama ko kay Mattea.
The passengers began boarding, and there she was—her cap and eyeglasses in place, her face bare yet still fresh. She looked effortlessly cool in her Jordan shoes, cargo pants, and oversized shirt. So handsome, yet so beautiful.
"Hi, seat number?" I asked, keeping my tone professional.
"Pwedeng kumandong nalang sa 'yo?" Matti replied with a teasing smile that almost made my knees weak.
I widened my eyes in mock surprise, and she chuckled. Cute.
"Umupo ka na. At 'yung headphones mo, gamitin mo ah," I reminded her, moving on to check the next passengers' boarding passes.
When the gate closed, I went down the aisle to check if the passengers were buckled in before takeoff. Matti was seated in the last row, which made me think—did she pay extra just to be closer to me during the flight?
Feelingera ba ako? Maybe. But I couldn't help but smile at the thought.
I gently placed my hand on her waist as I checked her seatbelt. I could have just looked, but I wanted an excuse to feel her close. She blushed, and I loved seeing it.
"Huy!" she whispered, her voice flustered.
"Just double checking," I teased. I wanted to pinch her cheeks, but I resisted.
The flight was smooth, and Matti unbuckled her seatbelt, walking over to where I was standing.
"Enjoying the flight?" I asked.
"Syempre, nandito ka eh," she replied, still in her bolera mode.
"May tao pa sa loob," I said, noticing she was probably heading to the restroom.
When the person exited, Matti grabbed my wrist and pulled me into the small bathroom with her.
"Mattea! Bawal 'to!" I protested.
