From the window ledge of the Cell fifty, Count Constance saw the gray plumes of clouds trying hard to block, defy and not be subdued by the moon's luminescence. He didn't see the glorious ethereal sight of the moonbeam shining at the contours of the clouds, nay, rather he saw the defeat in the clouds when they were at the edge.

Count Constance usually wore a thin smile exclusively reserved for people whom he had absolute indifference. He knew he had to escape the Gaol somehow and the opportunity is right there in front of him but he is certainly missing. Thanks to—

"Why do you pretend to be this character of a stranger in tux and bow tie who never knew me and looks with eyes that grunts, shut up you I don't know you kiddo? I can remind you your every weakness and quirk you showed when we were together."

With her voice was loud as cymbals, and ears that curved like some leaf, she looked nothing like his ex GF Lilia. She looked like a very short angry Tinker-bell but on Casper the Friendly Ghost's habit with wings clipped.

"My ex GF was a vampire but you are a-a ghost?" The count grunted while taking a whiff of air. She used to have the odor of vanilla but now? Burnt Ashes.

"I told you a million times already why I chose to shift to this version of me! I have to undergo Metanoia for mind-fullness for inner renewal of mind and un-corrupt immortality—"

"I don't know what those jargon mean, sounds all hogwash. Your change was so fast for me. Can I ever trust you? We could have stayed as vampire couple for more centuries but-"

"But I felt that we were reeking of our old ideas thought processes world views and it make us certainly difficult to reach out to another soul out there beside ourselves and coven! "

"Or you just wanted to move on and break up with me."

"Look, I am a nomad at heart but I do still find my home in you and wish you supported me."

"Heck we can't even go to a VampPub anymore because of your shape shifting! How can I ever tell my mum oh my GF shape-shifted to elf no biggie? You of all people know how our folks are like! We crave for constancy not unpredictable changes!"

"But what is constancy without little change from our inside? We would have been stone cold rocks then!" She paused as if she had more to say but then un-Lilia-ly she took a deep breath.

He didn't wish to respond to her baseless insult and so an awkward silence descended upon them.

Then she tried to pick up where she left off, "Now, look at the fates that brought us here, we still have things common between us!" she squeaked giddily like a cute chipmunk to him. "We both don't support the current government's ploy of red herring : save the humans from their wars. Humans needn't need our saving at all as they do have their communities and advanced technologies while our government's inability to manage monetary accounts is the truth."

He sighed and turned his back at her and attempted to ignore her continuing ramble.

When she noticed she was talking to a deaf wall, unknown to him, her face paled even more than before, like wispy translucent glass.

"If only we look paaaast

Our differences

And turn our eyes to our

Similaaaaarities"

Her voice hit off pitch perfect like some opera. He doubted if she shape shifted to elf and siren; the idea disgruntled him so much, much that his face reflected a grimace.
