Namjoon looked surprised but didn't say anything, his hand reaching out to meet hers. His grip was firm, sending a wave of familiar warmth through her. As they broke contact, Dami felt a strange sense of déjà vu, as if they were back in time, standing awkwardly in the school hallway, trying to keep their relationship a secret. Taehi's honey dripping laugh brought hem back to reality.

"Oh, Dami, you're going to plan our wedding? How...quaint," Taehi said, her voice sticky sweet. Dami's smile didn't waver.

"It's all professional, Miss Ahn. I assure you, I'm here to do my job."

Namjoon's gaze was still fixed on her, his eyes searching.

"It's been a long time," he said softly, his voice a gentle caress that sent a shiver down her spine. Dami felt a painful lump form at the base of her throat at the strange... softness in his voice. How she had missed it, how she had missed shadow of this man who now stood in front of her, tall as ever. Beautiful as ever.

Dami nodded, keeping her smile in place. "It has. But let's not let the past interfere with the present, shall we?" She gestured to her team, who were waiting patiently. "We've got a wedding to plan."

The initial hours were tense, with Taehi throwing out demands like confetti and Namjoon mostly silent, his eyes never leaving Dami's. It was clear to Dami that he was as torn as she was. But she kept her emotions in check. This was business, not a reunion she wanted. And thankfully, Yoongi's presence meant less of Namjoon's gaze and Taehi's annoying complains.

They walked through the venue, discussing décor and layout. Dami suggested a minimalist theme with a touch of vintage elegance, hoping it would be something Taehi would agree to. To her surprise, Taehi nodded along, seemingly bored with the whole process.

"Yeobo, what do you think?" She'd ask him every now and then, a subtle power play that Dami found amusing.

Namjoon would look at Dami, his eyes searching for something she wasn't quite ready to reveal. He'd nod in agreement, his voice a gentle murmur that seemed to echo the rhythm of her heart.

"I'll trust your judgment, Dami," he said, his thumb stroking the inside of Taehi's palm. Dami's smile was brittle, but she kept it firmly in place.

The venue they finalised was a picturesque mansion with sprawling lawns and a serene pond, surrounded by a riot of blooming flowers. It was the perfect backdrop for a fairy tale themed wedding, something Dami had always dreamed of planning for Namjoon. But not like this. Not for Taehi. Namjoon and Taehi nodded, as Dami explained her vision for Taehi's entry.

"I was thinking, Miss Ahn, you could walk down this aisle, lined with roses and peonies. Your bouquet could be a mix of white and blush roses with a touch of baby's breath. It would look stunning against white," Dami spoke with forced enthusiasm, her mind racing with how she'd love to see Namjoon's expression if she ever got to plan their wedding the way she'd always imagined.

Taehi raised an eyebrow, looking sceptical.

"Roses? That's a bit too cliché, don't you think?" Namjoon looks at Taehi, a brief flicker of of something flashing through his eyes, only Dami seemed to have noticed. She takes a deep beath, trying to bury her irritation at Taehi's words.

"How do you think we could do this?" She asks instead, forcing a sickeningly professional smile. Taehi's narrowed eyes flickered up to meet Dami's and she opened her mouth to reply. But it wasn't her who spoke next.

"Let's take an hour break," Yoongi suggests suddenly, his voice cutting through the thickness of the air. "We can meet back here to discuss the menu and other details."

Dami nods, relieved for the reprieve.

"Sounds good. Let's be back here at 5 PM sharp," she says, her eyes lingering on Namjoon for a moment too long. Seeming to have notice her gaze, Namjoon turned to face her making her pivot sharply. She gulped and took a deep, calming breathe before removing her phone, wanting to call Jae.

The rest of the team dispersed, leaving the four of them standing awkwardly by the pond. Taehi was the first to leave, her heels clicking against the cobblestone path as she made her way to her car. Dami watched her go, feeling a strange mix of anger and pity. She knew Taehi was using it, using the looming wedding with Namjoon to get to her. And she'd succeeded. But seeing her now, Dami couldn't help but feel a twinge of sadness for the girl who'd once been her best friend.

As Taehi walked away, Namjoon took a step closer to Dami.

"Can we talk?" he asked, his voice low. Dami felt her heart stutter in her chest. She hadn't thought of this, hadn't thought of what to do it she was alone with him.

But before she could respond, Yoongi's hand was on her shoulder.

"Let's go, Mi," he said, the grin on his face masking his protectiveness. "We've got a lot of catching up to do." Dami felt a wave of gratitude wash over her. She nodded, forcing a smile.

"You're right. We'll catch up later, Namjoon."

Namjoon's eyes searched hers, looking for something she wasn't quite ready to give. "Okay," he said, his smile seeming a bit off. "See you at 5."

Dami and Yoongi made their way to Dami's car, the silence between them charged with unspoken words. Dami's mind was racing with what Namjoon had wanted to say. Was he going to apologize? Confess something? Explain why he had done what he had done? Or was he just going to ask for her professional advice?

Once they were near her car, she threw the keys to Yoongi and took the shotgun seat.

"You okay?" he asked, his eyes filled with concern as he got in beside her. Dami took a deep breath, trying to shake off the heaviness in her chest.

"Yeah, I'm fine," she said, her voice a little too bright. "Let's go get something good to eat. We've got an hour."
