"And for that reason, you are REJECTED." Ishika's words hung in the air like a guillotine's blade, slicing through Deepak and Roshni's hopes.
Roshni's lips parted to protest, "Wait, we have—"
But Deepak grasped her arm, his voice barely audible over the pounding of his heart, "Not here. She doesn't work here, she owns the entire company."
Roshni's eyes flashed concern, her brow furrowed.
"What do we do now?" she whispered, her voice trembling.
Deepak's shoulders sagged, defeat etched on his face.
"Go back, I guess. We don't really have a chance."
As they turned to leave, the soft glow of the lobby's chandeliers seemed to mock them, highlighting their disappointment.
But then, a voice called out from behind, a lifeline in the darkness.
"Wait!!"
A woman in her 20s, with piercing green eyes and raven-black hair, introducing herself as Madhuri, Ishika's assistant, approached them.
"Where are you going?" Madhuri asked, her tone gentle.
"Back to our college," Deepak replied, his eyes downcast, his voice laced with resignation.
Madhuri's expression turned thoughtful, her gaze lingering on Deepak and Roshni.
"Actually, she was the one who called Sameer to offer you the contract," Madhuri revealed, her words dripping with intrigue.
Roshni's eyebrows shot up, surprise etched on her face.
"What? Then why did she reject us?",Madhuri leaned in, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Well, I'm not sure if I should tell you yet, but I can say that she'd be upset if you don't give it another try."
Deepak's curiosity sparked, a glimmer of hope rekindled "Another try?"
Madhuri nodded, a smile spreading across her face.
"Follow me."
She led them to Ishika's office, where they found the vice president sipping tea amidst a backdrop of sleek glass and polished wood.
"Ishika ma'am didn't mean it like that," Madhuri began.
Ishika raised an eyebrow, her gaze piercing, "Didn't mean what?"
Madhuri gestured to Deepak and Roshni, "They were leaving. They thought you truly rejected them."
Ishika's gaze softened, a hint of warmth seeping into her expression, "Ah, I see. You want another chance?"
Deepak and Roshni exchanged hopeful glances, their hearts racing in unison.
"Yes, please," Roshni pleaded, her voice laced with desperation.
Ishika leaned back, a calculated smile spreading across her face."I'll give you one condition: walk the ramp perfectly, and I'll reconsider."
Deepak's heart skipped a beat, anticipation coursing through his veins.
"Just one condition?",Ishika's smile widened, "Make it flawless, and you're in."
Roshni's determination ignited, her eyes blazing. "We won't disappoint you, Ishika ma'am."
Deepak's eyes locked onto Ishika's, a promise etched on his face.
"We'll make it perfect."
Roshni stepped onto the catwalk, her poise radiating femininity and regal aura. Every eye followed her fluid movements, mesmerized by the confidence she exuded. Her walk was a symphony of elegance, each step perfectly timed to the music.
