𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐝 ~ avengers

the avengers sat around the island in the kitchen and ate breakfast quietly. after yesterday the tension between them all had increased significantly and no one really felt like having conversation. evangeline obviously talked about nothing as always.

suddenly the elevator door opened and evangeline turned around quickly to find out who was there. she looked around and saw that all the avengers were with her, so whoever it was she probably wouldn't know yet.

fury appeared and walked towards them slowly. evangeline smiled and got up from her seat to say hello.

"i've got someone i want you to meet" fury said before he moved out of the way and revealed a girl about evangeline's age.

she smiled as she got flashbacks from when she had first met the group and how similar she must be feeling.

evangeline gasped and smiled before putting out her hand for the girl to shake. she decided she would be extra nice to try and calm the girls nerves.

"i'm evangeline, what's your name?"

the girl didn't even shake her hand, she just stared directly at her before muttering something. evangeline tilted her head in confusion.

"mollie" she said and pushed past evangeline, who frowned in frustration. she had tried to be extra nice and mollie didn't even attempt to try as well. how rude!

she turned to face clint who just shrugged his shoulders before turning back to his breakfast.

evangeline ran after her desperately.

"so how are you? i'm good but basically there's this like crazy thing going on in the tower and apparently it's supposed to be the end of the world. anyway i don't know if you've met these guys but basically it was tony's tower first. you know the one over there? he's iron man and he's like crazy stubborn. and him there? that's steve rogers. he's like super strong from this serum he was given- "

"i don't really care" mollie interrupted calmly and walked away. evangeline looked frustrated and ran after her again.

"im sorry am i talking to much? i feel like
i'm talking to much. i'm just used to people wanting to be my friend so i want to make sure you feel welcome in here since it can be intimidating- "

"seriously stop talking"

mollie walked away again and went to the elevator to leave and evangeline stood by herself sadly. she frowned and tilted her head in confusion. she had never had anyone be so mean to her. what was this girls problem?

"sorry about her, never been able to get a smile from her" fury sighed.

"why do you keep dumping kids on us?" tony chimed in and walked towards fury while eating his breakfast.

"these kids are extremely powerful and this is where they belong. suck it up or leave" fury said as he turned around and left.

tony sighed and put his head in his hands.

"why is she so mean? why does she hate me?!" evangeline cried as she sat down heavily on the seat again.

"sometimes people just don't want to be your friend kid" natasha said.

"no! she will like me, she has to!" evangeline cried as she ran off to find mollie again.
