Ch 10: 2 Conversations

I was walking through the corridors of Rhodes Island. I was walking to the Dokutah's office. He had been working so hard again today.

I was greeted by the people walking past as I smiled at them greeting them back. Rhodes Island has grown since the Doctor came back.

I knocked on his office as I heard his voice. "Come in."

The door opened as I walked inside. "How are you, Dokutah?"

"Good. Its late so I'll try to finish soon. What about you?"

He asked as I sat down on the empty couch. "I'm good. I just have been thinking about something."

"And that is?" The Doctor asked still looking at the report in front of him.

"It is about the Mission Medic has been on."

"Ah that one. I remember. Was it because of Lappland? We did guess there might be a problem when we send her with an unknown group."

"No, not that. It seems like Stryker has taken good control there. The problem is rather something Stryker did."

"And that is?"

"How about I start at the beginning."

".....I see. Does Kaltsit know of this?"

"Yes. I have already told her. Do you have any Idea of what I should do?"

"I think your idea of talking to him is already good enough. Why dont you do it tomorrow? I'll have your schedule be free for the morning."

"Thank you, Doctor! I can always count on you." I said to him before leaving with a smile on my face.

Entering the Cafeteria I looked around for Stryker. I would like to talk to him today before Dr. Kaltsit does something. I'm the Leader of Rhodes Island after all. 

Being deep in thoughts I accidently run into someone. "Ah sorry. I didnt look where I was going." I apologised but as I looked to see who it was, to my surprise it was exactly who I was searching for.

"Ah no worries, Miss Amiya. I didnt notice you there." Stryker apologised with his formality.

"No need for the Miss. Also theres something I wanted to talk about with you. Is that okay?"

"....Sure, what is it?"

"How about we sit down first. This might take a second." 

"....Okay." He then turned to two people who seem to be his friends. "Sorry guys."

"No problem. Just dont do anything stupid."

"We'll be waiting for you."

With this the two left as now I and Stryker were alone moving to an empty table. 

"So what can I help you with, Miss Amiya?"

"No need for the formality."

"Sorry. I'm just so used to it. It feels weird to call my Boss just by their name."

"Its no problem. The reason I wanted to talk to you is with something that happened during your mission with Medic."

I could feel him tense up as he was hiding it quite good on the outside.

"What of it? I believe Medic gave you the Report."

"Yes she did. First, it feels that you are avoiding me. Could I ask why? Is there something I did?" 

His face showed a bit of surprise. "No you didnt do anything. I just like to stay in the background is all. If this was a movie you and the Doctors would be the stars."
