The day arrived. Maids prepared me, dressing me in exquisite attire. As I stared into the mirror, I barely recognized myself—who was this woman looking back at me?

Enaish led me to a grand hall filled with nobles and townspeople. As we took our places on thrones meant for a king and queen, he whispered, “Welcome to Alshibama.”

Alshibama? I was marrying a king? I was still processing this when the doors burst open, and there stood Ezek, covered in blood, holding a sword.

“You will not marry her!” he screamed, rage and desperation pouring from him.

“Ezek,” Enaish said, his expression calm but darkened with sorrow.

“How do you know his name?” I asked, confusion flooding my mind.

“Because we met under that oak tree years ago,” Enaish revealed. “Your brother has known me for a long time. I was a prince in hiding, running from those who sought to destroy me.”

I felt my world tilt as they shared their history. “What group?” I asked, my heart racing.

“They controlled your father,” Enaish explained, his voice steady. “They wanted to use Ezek to destroy me once I came out of hiding.”

Ezek turned to me, his eyes filled with regret. “I wanted to protect you!” he shouted. “I didn’t want you to get involved in all of this. I knew Enaish was a target, but when I saw how much he cared about you, I couldn’t let them ruin your life.”
