I jumped over the wall and ran as if there was no tomorrow. I couldn't let them catch me. This mission had to succeed. My partner approached me on a motorcycle and the next thing I heard was, "HOP ON!". I quickly rode behind him as we practically flew away. Oh! I felt so alive as the air blew in my hair at this insane speed. This moment made it all worth-

"Alicia! How many times have I told you to drop the stupid game and go get dressed?!"

Mom's voice quickly snapped me back to reality as I dropped the controller and froze in my place. I had completely lost track of time again. I swallowed before turning to mom with a chuckle clearly trying to get out of trouble.

"Hey, mom, didn't see you there."

"Of course, you didn't with your stupid games.", mom snapped right at me and she looked pissed. A part of me wondered why she bought me the games or even gave me the money for them if she hated them so much. However, I was still glad she did so I could just indulge in that little world.

I let out a sigh as I got up and grabbed a dress from my closet, "Is this one alright?"

"No, wear the new red dress I bought you. This party is so important, Alicia. You know my friends' sons will be there"

"Not this again, mom"

Mom crossed her arms before speaking again, "Games won't support you, Alicia. A rich man will." And with that she just walked out of my room. If only I didn't have to attend mom's parties anymore. I just hated being surrounded by so many people.

I put on the dress she chose before going downstairs. And of course the second mom saw me she started introducing me to her friends' sons AGAIN. I pretended to be interested in the conversation, but all I could really think about was when this party would end so I could go continue playing that spy game again. 

The evening seemed exceptionally long for some reason. But it finally came to an end. I immediately ran upstairs to my room and practically jumped into one of my hoodies before grabbing my controller to continue the game. But before I could continue, some weird link appeared on the screen. I hesitated a bit before clicking on it. I wasn't afraid of hackers after all I am a hacker myself and no one could beat me. Surprisingly though, this wasn't a virus or a hacker. It was a new level of the game! It was way more fun and exciting than all the other ones that I spent hours on it. Then right after I finished it, the power went out.

I was a bit confused for a moment. This has never happened before. I sat in the darkness quietly for a moment but after a while I got bored. So, I grabbed my laptop and started working on it and in a matter of minutes, the electricity was back. 

But that wasn't the end of the weird things happening. In fact, that was the start...
