Legion: Phantom Rescue

Chapter 9

     "They will stop you, Bruce. They have to.." J'onn muttered softly as The Bat smiled towards him before walking away whilst the Martian then burst into flames, screaming loudly in pain.

     "Stop this, Bruce! This isn't you!" A voice echoed loudly throughout the room as Bruce then activated his detective vision scanning for the origin of the voice.

      "You're right, Patrick, this ISN'T me. It's a much newer and more improved me, a lot less BORING if I may add too!" The bat giggled lightly as the sound of rubbing pipes were heard shuttering.

     "No, these are the actions of HIM! The Joker! Not you, Bruce. You NEED to realize that." He spoke softly as he then poked his head out of the small pipe slowly whilst the Bat turned towards him grinning slightly.

      "What I realize that you and everyone else can't seem to is that I am the most powerful member of The Justice League, one that cannot be bested. What I REALIZE, is that you all have already died in my eyes, and it's only taking you all to realize that simple little fact." Bruce grinned deviously before pressing a button on a remote detonator softly.

     "Batman doesn't kill, Bruce Wayne doesn't kill. It's just who you.. What is that?" Plastic man questioned lightly before letting out a shrilling scream.

     "Axid, developed by The Trickster's son to best The Elongated Man. The one thing that can actually hurt people with stretching capabilities." Bruce grinned softly as the stretchy hero quickly squeezed through the pipe, collapsing to the floor shaking violently while his entire body turned into a horrid burn color while looking up towards the menacing Bat with a pleading expression. "It hurts really bad, doesn't it? Although I've never seen it kill anyone with your powers, all of this is completely theoretical. However, the pain will stop as soon as you die." He spoke with a grin as he began prying his mouth open. "Just stay still." The Bat instructed lightly before pouring a vial of the axid down Plastic Man's throat causing his scream to grow louder by the minute as the axid began entering his body, causing him to continue shaking if not more violently.

     "BRUCE! STOP!" A voice exclaimed as a wave of water washed through The Bat, causing him to be hurdled across the room and against the wall roughly. "ENOUGH OF THIS!" Arthur Curry exclaimed slowly approaching his friend with his trident in his hand.

     "Arthur, I have to admit you're going to be the hardest to kill.. Dehydration as a weakness?" He giggled lightly as the Atlantean began gritting his teeth.

     "No more killing, you're BETTER than this!" He exclaimed loudly as The Bat began standing up on his 2 feet slowly.

     "But I think I found the perfect thing, surrounding your greatest fear!" Bruce exclaimed with his maniacal laughter followed behind.

     "What're you talking about?" Aruthur questioned curiously as The Bat slowly began approaching him.

     "I have a contingency plan for everyone I've encountered, Arthur, and you I admit have been the hardest to create a plan for. However, I came up with the perfect plan in the end!" He expressed a massive amount of gas began spewing towards Arthur causing him to let out a loud series of coughs. "Your greatest fear is Water. Your greatest weakness is Dehydration. Together make the PERFECT weapon. Using an altered version of Crane's toxin, I have found a way to ensure your fear drives you mad for DECADES, keeping you from any source of water from ANYWHERE on the planet! And that can only last for so long before you die of dehydration." The Bat grinned widely as Arthur shook his head in disbelief.

      "That's.. That's Impossible!" Arthur exclaimed as Bruce splashed Arthur with a small amount of water causing him to jump out of fear leaving Bruce to let out a soft laugh.
