Fredrick's POV:

I saw my wife and sons off at the airport a while ago and have recently received numerous professors from across a wide variety of universities from both here in Europe and back in the States. Shortly after that, we received ground-penetrating radar and sonar equipment and began mapping the structure buried below us.

I was beginning to think that my daughter would love this, but we hadn't talked since she was 14, and she went away to see her mother at the Winter Olympian Council. And no, not Olympians like the athletes but like the Olympian Gods. And yes, the Gods hold a winter council and summer council on the two solstices.

I checked the time, and it was about time for me to call home. "Hey Fredrick, aren't you supposed to be making that call to your wife?" one of my British colleagues jested.

"Yeah, I was just about to get to that," I replied. I swear my co-workers know when I have to make that call before I do.

I went to one of the tents we had set up to give us shelter and a bit of privacy on-site and called my wife. "Hello, dear," I said as she picked up the phone.

"Good morning, Honey," She replied, forgetting that it was actually well into the afternoon here. "You'd never guess who showed up this morning."

"Did Annabeth show up?" I asked. I knew they were working on fixing their relationship before Annabeth left over winter break.

"not just her, but two other girls and a boy, as well," my wife replied.

"Were they asking for help? Did something happen?" I asked.

"Do you just forget about me and our sons?"

"Honey, I literally video-called you three about 10 hours ago, and you three were about to head to bed. My daughter comes and visits home after over three years, and I'd like to know why."

" I don't know. Yes, I'm speaking with your father," my wife said, starting to speak to someone on the other end of the line.

I don't know what happened, but my wife wasn't next on the line. "Fredrick," a masculine voice I did not recognize spoke next.

"Who are you? What..."

"Oh, shush. I'm not allowed to assassinate mortals yet," the voice replied. "Anyway, your wife and daughter are verbally arguing about who should get to speak with you."

Wait, assassinate mortals...oh shit, this is a God...or someone raised by them. But why would my daughter bring a god to the house? "One, I wasn't always one of those, and two, because I am her boyfriend."

"PERCY," I heard my daughter's voice on the phone.

"Hey, I didn't want him getting the wrong ideas just because of..."

"B.a.e., you should really shut up," the voice of my daughter's friend Thalia whispered and was barely audible through the phone.

Wait, Bay. "Dad," my daughter spoke through the phone, interrupting my thoughts.

"Yeah," I said.

"how's it going?" she asked.

"Well, your brother hurt himself on our summer trip, and he may have accidentally also made a historic discovery. I am current..."

"wait, historic discovery. Where?"

"Slovenia," I answered.

"You have got to be fucking kidding me," My daughter replied. "YES, HE SAID SLOVENIA," she yelled, and I started hearing laughter from the other end of the line. "It is not funny, you three. This is serious," my daughter stated.
