Darkness etched on to miles as the troop headed deeper into the forest with their weapons ready. "Beware for Biters," Jason mumbles to me as he glances around wearily. My eyebrows furrowed as I clutched tighter on my shotgun. "We're raiding a fucking forest, Jason. At night! Why are you this stupid?" I asked with genuine curiosity, and Jason glanced up at me and scowled defensively. "I'm not stupid. You are! And besides, I heard that there's another group camping out here somewhere. And what's better than sneaking in, stealing their stuff, and maybeee," Jason rolled his hand a bit while he talked, "Maybe we kill some of 'em." I face palms at this. "We're not killing anyone anymore Jason! We reached our max like, half an hour ago!" "Awh! But we've reached 130!" I groaned. "Noah! Please! It's only 130 walkers!" Jason whined a little, and I grumbled, hoisting my shotgun up. "And humans! We're one of the most dangerous gangs out here Jason. We don't get to go on killing sprees, we go killing people if we have to. And we kill Biters when they try to bite us." He huffs, crossing his arms. "Like they've bitten you a hundred times." He grumbles, and I sighed, my face expression softening a little. "They've done it a few times, sure. But I'm still here, aren't I?" He glances up at me wearily, shifting around as the troop heads in front of us. "And," I added, shifting closer to him. "I'm still here." Jason grumbles, looking back down at the ground as he kicks a rock. "That's true...I guess you are still here..." "And you're still here. I kept my promise when the outbreak first happened, remember? I won't let anything happen to you." He sighs, nodding his head as I smiled a bit, and I nudged him in the shoulder gently. "Maybe after we raid them, we can find a diner and cook up what they have." "Like a date?" He asked, his face lighting up. I blushed a bit as I saw his smile-It was nice to see him smile after so long. Usually, Jason shouts and curses at people, effectively killing them whoever crosses his path.

"Yeah. Sure man, like a date." I confirmed, thankful for the night. I didn't know what I would do if he started teasing me. I was too tired to be a blushing mess, and I'm sure he was too.

A loud screaming in the distance catches our attention, startling me as I feel a sudden sense of dread fill my stomach. "S-shit, what was that? A Biter?" I asked, hands shaking slightly as our troop crowded around each other. "Split up," Jason ordered them, a couple of the rest of the boy's nodding their heads as they split off into the distance as Jason and I headed over to the bushes.

I crouched down, Jason kneeling beside me as we hid in them. I poked my head out, there was the screaming again..But...it turned into laughter? Someone was laughing? Who the fuck would be laughing at a time like this? Don't they know that they could get eaten if they're too loud? I gave Jason a look of disbelief at this, and Jason glanced down at me, shrugging his shoulders. "I don't know either." He whispers quietly, and my hands grip on to the prickly leaves to get a better look.

There was a group of them. A whole lot of people. More than what we have on patrol right now. There was a guy with a beard..a small kid with a police hat, A guy with long wavy hair that went to his shoulders, he was muscular too, a woman with short silver pixie cut, another woman with short hair with blue eyes, an Asian guy.. And a black girl with braids who sat quietly next to what seemed to be a guy who was a police officer before the pandemic.

I sighed as I frowned, looking at them again, glancing down at their supplies. They each seem to be carrying a bag of supplies, a little baby was held in one of the girl's arms. I nudged Jason again. "They have perfect supplies. That could last us months." I whispered. "It could!"

I hummed a bit as I looked past them, the cost seemed to be cleared. We backed around the corner and stood up, pushing Jason behind me a little as I gripped my shotgun tighter. "Hands in the air!" I shouted, making their eyes widen as they all flinched and stiffened. "Hands in the air right now!" I yelled, stepping forward with furrowed eyebrows, Rick's eyes on me as he held up his hands. "O-Our hands are up..."
