Amrita hesitantly layed on the bed, covering herself with the blanket.
Daksh wasn't back yet and she was thankful for that.

_____

Daksh's eyes gleamed with intoxication, his face flushed from the whiskey. Amrita's face haunted him, her beauty and vulnerability fueling his obsession.

"He finally did it," Daksh slurred, clinking his glass against his lips. "Married the girl of his dreams."

A sly smile spread across his face as he recalled their wedding day. Amrita's reluctance, her tears, only excited him more.

"Mine now," Daksh muttered, his voice laced with possession. "No one can take her away."

His thoughts spiralled into darkness, memories of their wedding  resurfacing. Amrita's trembling, her pleas for mercy... Daksh's smile grew wider.

"You're mine, Amrita," he whispered, his voice dripping with entitlement. "Forever and always."

His smile twisted into a scowl.
He should be near her... now..

Daksh stumbled into the room, his footsteps uneven. The whiskey had taken its toll, but his eyes locked onto Amrita's serene form.

She lay asleep, her face pale, with faint tear stains on her cheeks. Daksh's gaze lingered, his thoughts clouded.

"Beautiful," he slurred, his voice barely audible. "My wife."

Daksh's eyes roamed over Amrita's peaceful face, his thoughts twisting with possession.

"Mine now," he muttered, his words dripping with entitlement.

He settled into the space beside the her,
his drunk gaze fixed on Amrita.

"Shouldn't have cried, my love," Daksh mumbled, his words nonsensical. "You're mine... forever."
Daksh's smile twisted. "My wife... my Amrita."
He sat transfixed, admiring Amrita's peaceful beauty. He savored the moment, not wanting to disturb her.

His gaze traced her features:

Soft eyelids
Delicate nose
Lush lips

Daksh's thoughts blurred, his intoxication amplifying his emotions.
"My wife," he whispered, his voice barely audible.

His eyes lingered on Amrita's face, searching for signs of awakening. He longed to see her eyes sparkle, her smile brighten.
But Amrita remained still, her chest rising and falling with gentle breaths.

Daksh's admiration slowly turned into a mix of emotions.
Possessiveness
Protectiveness
Longing

His drunk mind swirled with conflicting thoughts
"Mine to protect... mine to love..."

Suddenly, Amrita stirred, her eyelids fluttering in panick.

Amrita's breath quickened, her heart racing like a runaway train. The darkness closed in around her, suffocating her. Memories she thought were long buried resurfaced, haunting her.

Daksh's concerned voice cut through the chaos in her mind. "Amrita, what's wrong?"

But she couldn't answer. Her eyes widened, fixed on some unseen horror. Her hands trembled, her entire body shaking.

Daksh hesitated, unsure how to comfort her. He had never seen Amrita like this before. His head spinned, Her usual poise and strength were shattered, revealing a vulnerable, frightened woman.

"Amrita, please..." Daksh's voice trailed off as he reached out, unsure if he should touch her.

Amrita's eyes flashed with terror, and she shrank away, her voice barely audible. "Don't...don't touch me."
