The corridor was cold and silent as the whispers of the other students faded into the background. Taehyung's heart was racing as he approached the door to the office, his sneakers echoing on the linoleum floor. The door was a stark contrast to the rest of the hallway, a heavy wooden slab with a small frosted window at eye-level, giving a glimpse into the dimly lit room beyond. The principal's stern voice was a constant hum, punctuated by the occasional sharp retort of a teacher. The air felt thick with accusation and judgment. Taehyung took a deep breath, trying to calm the storm of emotions swirling within him. He had never been one to shy away from a fight, but this was different. This wasn't just about him anymore; it was about his best friend, Jungkook, and the reputation they had both worked so hard to build

Taehyung stepped into the office, the door creaking open to reveal three stern faces staring at him from the opposite side of the desk. The principal, Mr. Choi, sat at the center, his face etched with lines of disappointment. On either side, teachers Mrs. Park and Mr. Lee flanked him like a pair of disapproving guardians. The room was small and cluttered, with stacks of paperwork and trophies from the school's past victories. The smell of stale coffee mixed with the faint scent of chalk was a stark reminder of the place they were in – a place where reputations could be made and broken. The principal's desk was clear except for a single file with Taehyung's name on it.

Taehyung's eyes met the principal's, and Mr. Choi leaned forward, his hands folded on the desk. "Kim Taehyung, do you have anything to say for yourself?" His tone was firm, leaving no room for argument. Taehyung clenched his fists by his side, his knuckles turning white. The memory of the incident was still fresh in his mind – the taunts, the shoves, and the moment he had decided to stand up for himself and Jungkook.

He took a step forward, his voice strong and clear. "I said they were being disrespectful." The teachers exchanged a quick glance, their eyes widening slightly. Mrs. Park spoke up, her voice filled with frustration. "It doesn't matter if they were disrespectful to Jungkook or to you. What matters is that you've hurt someone from another school. You've brought shame upon us all."

The room grew tense as Taehyung felt his anger bubbling to the surface. "They were being disrespectful, period," he countered. "And if they mess with my friend again, I'll do the same thing."

Mr. Lee slammed his hand on the desk, making everyone jump. "What you've done is inexcusable, Taehyung!" he shouted. "The boy is in the hospital! Don't you have any remorse?"

Taehyung's gaze remained unfaltering as he stared down the teachers. "What's done is done," he said, his voice carrying a quiet intensity that seemed to echo in the small room. "But let's be clear – I'll always stand up for what's right, and if that means defending myself or Jungkook, I'll do it again." He knew the weight his words carried, and the silence that followed was deafening.

Mrs. Park leaned back in her chair, her eyes narrowing. "Your father will not be pleased when he hears of this," she said, her voice a low warning. At the mention of his father, a flicker of something unreadable passed across Taehyung's features, but he remained stoic.

The principal sighed heavily, rubbing his temples. "Taehyung," he began, his tone softer than before, "you know how much pressure we're under to maintain this school's image. Your father's influence has kept us afloat, but even he has his limits." Taehyung felt a knot form in his stomach as he thought about his father's expectations and the potential consequences.

He looked down at his feet, the gravity of the situation weighing heavily on his shoulders. When he spoke again, his voice was quieter, more reflective. "I know, but I couldn't just stand by and do nothing." The room remained silent, the teachers' expressions a mix of disappointment and understanding. Mr. Choi leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers. "And what of Jungkook? You say you were defending him, but he is also involved in this altercation."
