The next day, the sun hung low in the sky, casting a warm glow over the city. Jungkook waited anxiously by the park bench, his thoughts racing. He had no idea what Taehyung had planned, but he had a feeling it was something big. His stomach was a mess of butterflies, his palms slick with sweat.
Taehyung arrived a few minutes later, looking nervous but determined. He took Jungkook's hand, leading him away from the bustle of the park. They walked in silence for a while, the only sound their footsteps on the gravel path.
When they reached the quiet, secluded spot Taehyung had chosen, he stopped and turned to face Jungkook. His heart was racing so fast he thought it might burst out of his chest. Jungkook looked at him with wide eyes, his grip on Taehyung's hand tightening.
Taehyung took a deep breath and began, "Jungkook, do you remember the first time we met?" Jungkook nodded, a soft smile playing on his lips. "You were the most beautiful person I had ever seen," Taehyung continued, his voice shaking with emotion. "And every day since then, you've become more and more the reason I breathe, the light in my darkest moments, the bane of my existence in the most wonderful way."
He paused, his eyes searching Jungkook's for any sign of understanding or rejection. "You're my everything," Taehyung said, dropping to one knee. Jungkook's eyes widened, his breath catching in his throat. "And I want to spend the rest of my life with you, fighting battles together, laughing through the good times, and holding each other through the bad. Will you be my boyfriend, Jungkook?"
The world seemed to stop for a moment as Jungkook processed Taehyung's heartfelt confession. The air was thick with anticipation, the only sounds the distant chirping of birds and their own shallow breaths. Jungkook's eyes grew misty, and his cheeks flushed. "Yes," he whispered, his voice barely audible. "I'll be your boyfriend, Tae."
Taehyung's face broke into a grin, and he stood up, pulling Jungkook into a tight embrace. They kissed, the soft press of their lips a promise of the future. It was a moment of pure, unfiltered happiness that seemed to block out the world and all its troubles.
When they broke apart, Jungkook was smiling, his eyes shimmering with unshed tears. "Thank you," he murmured, his voice trembling. "I've been waiting for this for so long."
Taehyung's smile grew even wider. "Me too," he said, his voice filled with a newfound confidence.
Jungkook's eyes searched Taehyung's, trying to read the emotions swirling in their depths. He felt a warmth spread through him, a warmth that had nothing to do with the setting sun. "Really?" he asked, his voice hopeful.
Taehyung nodded, his eyes never leaving Jungkook's. "Really," he affirmed. "So, what do you want to do today? It's your day, so you choose."
Jungkook thought for a moment, his stomach rumbling. "Let's go eat something first," he said, his voice betraying his hunger. "I'm starving."
Taehyung's eyes twinkled with mischief as he leaned in and kissed Jungkook's pouty lips. "As you wish," he murmured against them, making Jungkook's heart flutter.
They made their way to the number one restaurant in Korea, a place Taehyung had always wanted to take Jungkook to. The building was sleek and modern, the neon sign casting a warm glow onto the sidewalk. Jungkook looked at the menu, his eyes widening at the prices. "Tae, it's very expensive," he protested. "I can't let you pay for this."
Taehyung took Jungkook's hand, squeezing it gently. "It's okay," he said, his voice soothing. "Today is special. We're celebrating us."
Jungkook bit his lip, his gaze flicking between the menu and Taehyung's hopeful expression. He didn't want to cause a scene, so he nodded reluctantly. "Okay," he said, his voice small. "But just this once."
