Kara and Reven find the artifact, an ancient relic known as the Soulstone, capable of severing the connection between the living and the dead. But as Kara reaches for it, a vision flashes before her eyes—her mother, standing before her, warning her of the price that must be paid.
Liora (vision): "The power comes with a cost, Kara. You must choose wisely."
Kara hesitates, but before she can decide, Lucian appears, revealing his true intentions. He wants the Soulstone for himself, to gain control over the souls of the undead. A battle ensues, and in the chaos, Kara must decide whether to destroy the Soulstone and free Reven, or use its power to stop the Pale Ones.
