Although her surroundings were peaceful, the same could not be said for what was going on in Alexis' head. In Alexis' dream, she was with her mother, they were curled up on the burgundy couch watching their favorite television show, Gravity Falls. Alexis' head resting on her mother's shoulder, Alexis gets up without reason and goes to the kitchen. She peers around the corner to see her mother still watching Dipper and Mabel solving some mystery. With no control of what she's doing, Alexis opens the silverware drawer and pulls out two skewers. She then closes the drawer and walks up quietly behind her mother. Before she even has time to comprehend what she's doing, Alexis stabs both skewers into her mother's skull, killing her instantly. Alexis then walks around to the front of her couch and faces her mother, peering straight into her lifeless eyes. She reached her hand up to her mother's open eyes and closes them. Realizing what she had just done, Alexis smiles and walks away from her mother's corpse.
That is when her dream ended and Alexis awoke with a start. She shot straight up and was confused for a moment, until she realized that she must have fallen asleep in the tree and had a bad dream. Alexis then began to climb down from the tree, wide awake and slightly frightened from the dream she had just experienced. Once she had climbed all the way down the tree, Alexis picked up her hoodie that had been slightly covered in snow and brushed the snow off, she then headed homeward.
Alexis returned home after walking through the forest, still not even the slightest bit cold. Alexis walked up the steps of her front porch, snow crunching under her red converse. Curious about what weather she had been sleeping in, Alexis checked the thermometer and saw that it was only 29 degrees outside. Slightly shocked by the temperature, Alexis headed inside. Once inside, Alexis hung up her scarlet hoodie that was still a bit damp from the snow and walked over to the kitchen where her mother was finishing up preparing dinner.
"You back from the snow? You were gone so long I was beginning to think the snow was consuming you." Alexis' mother chuckled. Alexis forced a laugh in response. She then walked out of the kitchen and into the living room and plopped down onto the couch. She slipped off her shoes and threw them to the corner by the door. Alexis then decided to go upstairs to her room, but as she walked she noticed something, behind her was a trail of frost on the floor, and the trail stopped exactly where Alexis was standing. She found it strange and ran up to her room, leaving a trail of frost behind her. "What's going on? What's going on? What's going on?" Alexis asked herself, over and over again.
She curled up in a ball on her bed, in horror of what was happening, because she didn't know what was happening. Frost was slowly spreading from Alexis in intricate patterns across her bed. "Sweetie? Are you okay?" Alexis' mother asked her through the door. Watching the doorknob begin to turn, the horrified Alexis reached her hand out towards the door. Everything then seemed to go in slow motion as Alexis watched the frozen crystals fly from her pale fingertips to the frame of her door and freeze it shut. Alexis' mother then spoke as calmly as she could "Alexis, please open the door." Alexis couldn't move, she could barely think, much less process what was happening. It was like she couldn't control herself anymore...
