(Guys! I just now realized that this is the last chapter in mimic. Meaning that this is the third last chapter before the epilogue of this book. We're finally near the finish line of this book. Oh well, I just wanted to rant about this discovery so without further waiting, let's begin this show!)
The room was in silence before it was broken by a large shout. No, not because of fear, worry or anything like that. But instead it was....
"What kind of house is that!"
"Nya, it looks so weird. Are all the houses in your home like that?"
"Your telling me that the money-minded Cale lived in that kind of house!"
And similar shouts came from the room full of confusion. Hell, even Choi Han was a bit confused that Cale lived in that building. He knew that Cale lost his parents at a young age, but wasn't he taken in by his good for nothing shit piece of an uncle.
The building was a below basic looking orphanage in Korea. That much Choi Han can remember at least but why would Cale call an orphanage his home?
'Don't tell me that fucker kicked Cale-nim out!!'
Choi Han eyes widened at 'his' realization as he gritted his teeth in anger, growling as well. At that moment he truly pictured a dog angered by someone hurting their owner. Choi Han anger just reached a new level of fever pitch.
Alberu who was standing close to Choi Han, as well as Rosalyn and Lock all noticed his state as they wondered what got him so mad. Though Alberu had an idea on what the puppy dog knight was thinking about since he too, knew at least a little bit of Cale's childhood and he was smart enough to guess what kind of building was shown on the screen.
He was strong enough to hold back his anger, but for how long?
Cale, a few meters away from them was getting bombarded by questions from his kids when he finally let out an answer that made the room silent as Choi Han and Alberu conclusion was proven true with only one thing wrong with it.
"That building over there was an orphanage I had lived in until I was 18 and was legally allowed to move out."
Both Cale's face and tone was nonchalant as he let himself fall back-first onto the bed he was sitting and previously sleeping on, already tired from all this. Not realizing the chaos that he just created through on simple sentence.
Cale will forever be oblivious no matter what his family tries to do to show they care.
Chapter 4 Part 1: The Orphanage
Kim Rok Soo stood in front of the front door. An eerie feeling that had been there since the beginning reaching it's near all time high. Heck, even his hands were shaking while trying to open the door. Either way, he can't really turn back unless he wants to experience hell all over again. Not like his life in the real world is any better.
Having finally gained the strength, he opened the door, it felt empty. No, it didn't feel empty, it was empty. Not a single child in sight.
He walked to the kitchen where the staff would for some reason keep all the notes. Just like he thought, there was a note on the table that stated that they were out with all the kids to a children fundraiser for their orphanage. As if.
"While I admit it's quite strange for all the children from an orphanage to have gone to that place but...."
'For some reason his last sentence felt personal. More like it commented on the base of emotions than logic which considering Cale he must have already noticed the moment he entered the house.
