A thunder's embrace

After everybody left the classroom and went towards the gymnasium, only three students remained at the school, only one of which was injured and incapable of going to the entrance ceremony.

"Is that like a lot? He says while claiming to be able to lift a Siberian tiger," Mocked Horikita.

"Shouldn't you two be going to the entrance ceremony?" I asked trying to avoid any judgment.

"No, I'm good." Said Nakata still in the same position.

"It's bad manners to look elsewhere when talking to someone," commented Horikita.

This prompted Nakata to sigh before getting up and twisting his chair in her direction. His eyes had turned slightly less red now as he faced her but still looked at his hands. The entire air in the room felt awkward making it hard for any of us to speak up.

"I will be going to my dorm now," I spoke up and got up on my shaky feet.

"Are you sure you can walk?" Horikita asked.

"I'll manage."

I pushed back my chair and turned towards the exit when a voice stopped me.

"Wait, Kiyotaka," It was Nakata.

I glanced in his direction, only to find that he was already looking at me. For the first time, our eyes met. His pupils had returned to their normal black, but now they held a calm, calculated intensity that unnerved me. Yet, the longer I stared into them, the more I realized that his eyes told a story far deeper than what was on the surface.

It wasn't that he was truly looking at me—rather, his gaze seemed to pass through me, as if I was nothing more than a fleeting detail, barely worth his attention. His eyes carried a detached knowingness, as if they had already seen all there was to see about me, long before this moment. I was not an object of interest, merely an open book he had no desire to read again.

And yet, something had changed. His massive figure, once giving off a timid, unapproachable aura, now emanated something far more complex—a mix of uncertainty and tension. It was as if he stood on the edge of a decision, unsure of what came next. The air around him felt heavy, charged with an underlying conflict that no one else seemed to notice. His presence was no longer merely intimidating; it was unsettling in a way that made it impossible to predict what he might do next.

"Please sit down," he commanded in a deep voice, but also in a way that let me know if I rejected his offer I might regret it.

I sat down.

"What is it?" we both glared at each other.

"I am about to tell you a few things that mustn't escape the walls of this class, that goes to the both of you," He looked in both mine and Horikita's direction.

After he was done talking, Nakata slowly got up from his chair and started moving towards the class exit. Horikita who had taken up a blank expression after hearing his words was staring silently at her chair with her hands placed on her lap.

Just as he was about Horikita spoke without looking in his direction, "I need to talk with you. Alone."

Nakata stood at the door not looking our way and spoke, "Suzune, I really don't think thats'-"

"Please, it is all I ask," she said, her voice shaky.

"..."

"Meet me in my dorm room today whenever u feel free."
