Third Person's POV ~
Taehyung stood frozen in Seojoon's hospital room, his breath caught in his throat. Seojoon's last words still echoed in his mind.
"Marry Jungkook."
His heart raced, but it wasn't because of Jungkook. It was because of Seojoon. The man he thought he loved. How could he even think of marrying Jungkook?
"I can't," Taehyung whispered, shaking his head as tears filled his eyes. "I love you, Seojoon... I can't marry someone else."
Seojoon's weak smile never faltered. "You don't love me the way you think you do, Tae. I lied to you, and you believed it. The one who really loves you is standing right here. It's always been Jungkook."
Taehyung's gaze darted towards Jungkook, who stood silently by the door, his face unreadable. He had no idea what to say. His mind was in turmoil—how could he marry Jungkook when his heart had always belonged to Seojoon? Or had it? and Which Lie he is talking about?
"No," Taehyung said again, his voice more forceful now. "I can't do this."
"Tae..." Seojoon's voice trembled, a pained look crossing his face. "Please. This is my last wish. Let me go knowing you're with someone who truly loves you."
Taehyung wiped at his eyes, his mind spinning in all directions. But Seojoon's words left him no room to argue. His heart ached, but he eventually nodded, the weight of Seojoon's last wish pressing heavily on his shoulders.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The wedding was simple, almost mechanical. Taehyung stood next to Jungkook, his body stiff, his mind elsewhere. He barely remembered the ceremony, the words spoken, or even the ring that now sat on his finger. It was all a blur. His mind was with Seojoon, lying in that hospital bed, fighting to live.
After the marriage, Jungkook quietly packed his things and moved back to Korea in his old apartment , settling into their shared home. But the house never felt like a home to Taehyung. Every morning, he would leave early, heading straight to the hospital to spend time with Seojoon. Jungkook rarely saw him. They barely spoke to each other, only exchanging brief words when necessary.
Days turned into weeks, and the distance between them only grew. Jungkook tried not to let it show, but the silence hurt. He understood that Taehyung hadn't wanted this marriage. It was for Seojoon, not for them. But every day, as Taehyung left for the hospital and Jungkook stayed behind, he felt the weight of the unspoken words between them.
One afternoon, Taehyung found himself alone in their house for the first time. The sun was beginning to set, casting a golden hue through the windows, filling the quiet space with a sense of stillness. Taehyung wandered the halls, feeling out of place in what was supposed to be his home.
With nothing else to do, he started cleaning—dusting the shelves, organizing the kitchen, and finally making his way to the spare room at the end of the hall. It was always locked, and Jungkook never mentioned it. Curiosity gnawed at him as he searched for the key. After a few minutes of rummaging, he found it tucked away in a drawer.
He hesitated for a moment, his fingers trembling slightly, before unlocking the door.
The sight that greeted him made his heart stop.
The room was filled with photographs—hundreds of pictures of him, covering every wall, every surface. Some were from their university days, others from random moments he couldn't even remember. And scattered between the pictures were notes—handwritten, heartfelt messages.
"You make my world brighter."
"I wish I could tell you how much you mean to me."
"Every time I see you smile, I fall a little more in love."
Taehyung's knees felt weak as he read each note, his pulse quickening. He had no idea Jungkook had been carrying these feelings for so long, that the quiet, gentle man he married had been watching him so closely, loving him from afar.
Before he could process it all, his vision blurred, and his head began to spin. His legs gave way, and he collapsed to the floor, gasping for breath. His mind was racing, his heart pounding in his chest.
The door swung open, and Jungkook rushed inside. "Taehyung!" His voice was filled with panic as he ran to Taehyung's side, lifting him gently and guiding him to their room. He laid Taehyung on the bed, worry etched across his face.
Jungkook sat by his side, watching as Taehyung slowly regained his composure. Neither of them spoke, the silence heavy between them. Jungkook's mind raced—should he say something? Should he explain? But the words stuck in his throat, too afraid of what Taehyung might say.
Instead, he watched over him in silence, his heart aching for the love he had tried so hard to hide.
