Begin Again

Daisy Diana Hunt was the epitome of perfection. Or at least she felt she had to be. From the day her parents adopted her and she left Seattle to live with her new parents in Royal Woods, she felt like if she messed up in any way she would send her back to live with her biological family. And if she was sent back, she knew they would try to groom her to become a surgeon just like her birth father and mother. Every day Daisy worried that her parents would regret adopting her and would send her back and the best way to avoid that is to never do anything that would give them a reason to. Royal woods wasn't so bad though. When she arrived in sixth grade she met a girl named Lynn.

Lynn changed her life to say the least. They were as thick as thieves. Lynn was her first and very best friend in her new town. Lynn made the monotony of Royal Woods less boring and stagnant. Lynn was intense for an eleven year old and extremely competitive. Daisy felt free to mess up when she was around her because she knew Lynn wouldn't care about slight imperfections. Having ten siblings probably helped with that.

But then things started getting weird, for Daisy at least. While Lynn had always been adamant that she didn't like romance or crush culture, Daisy was always reading. Specifically romance novels. She loved them. So when she started feeling nervous around her best friend, and looking at her dimples for a little longer than normal, Daisy knew exactly what was happening. She had read about it in numerous books and fairytales. But the confusing part was why she was feeling this way for a girl. Liking girls was not what perfect girls do, and she had to stay perfect.

All Daisy could think was, why her? What did Lynn have that made Daisy think she liked girls. She couldn't like girls. And besides Lynn didn't like romance so there was no point in making a big fuss about it.  Sure there were moments where Daisy thought that maybe there was something there. But, she always thought that she was making something out of nothing. So the only logical thing to do would be to stop being friends with Lynn because if Daisy wasn't friends with her then she wouldn't be questioning herself.

Now that she's older, Daisy finally realized that being a lesbian wouldn't be so bad. When she finally came out to her mom after two years of keeping it a secret, she was surprised to find out that her mom is bisexual. Before she met her husband, Daisy's dad, her mom was in love with one of her own best friends. Even more surprising was that her older sister, Alison was named after the same woman her mother was in love with. It felt good to have that bonding moment with her mom and helped ease her anxiety about being sent back.

Lynn Loud at fourteen years old never thought she'd have to speak to Daisy Hunt ever again. Ever since Daisy crushed her little eleven year old heart by ending their friendship with a stupid note, Lynn hated her guts. Though it didn't take much for Lynn to hate somebody, her hatred for Daisy was on another level. In Lynn's mind, Daisy didn't have any remorse for what she had done, or at least Lynn thought she didn't. Little did Lynn know the real reason behind Daisy's sudden disinterest.

All Daisy could think about when the curtain fell on her last middle school musical, was writing her own music. In fact she'd been thinking of it for a while. But she needed help. Luckily, in the crowd was the exact person she needed to help her. Luna Loud.

Now, Luna Loud was definitely not her first choice considering Daisy and Lynn's past. But, Luna was like a Royal Woods celebrity. She was the best and only option Daisy had if she wanted to be successful. The only and probably the biggest problem would be dealing with Lynn. As well as whatever Lynn told her parents and siblings. That could be a huge issue.

So here she was, waiting in the common area while the rest of the cast greeted their family and friends, looking for the one and only Luna Loud. Luckily she was easy to spot because of her all purple outfit and very loud voice, a trait most of that family had. Daisy could hear her from a mile away.
